Insomnia

It seems like it was not too long ago that I read that one of the symptoms of perimenapause (a horrid part of life that both myself and John are suffering through - he having to put up with me!) is insomnia.
I am able to fall asleep with no problem. Then, usually between 12:30 am and 1:00 am, I wake up. I'm hot. I will throw all the sheets and blankets off and remove my nightgown and try to cool off. Eventually, I might get cooler, and then I might get up and go to the bathroom, and then, when I try to fall asleep again, I can''t. I can't get comfortable, I can't stop thinking about everything on earth, I can't fricking sleep.
John has been telling me that I should get out of bed and go do something if I can't sleep. So far, I have not found anything scientific to back up his claims, but I tried it anyway last night and ended up doing a pretty thorough cleaning of about 3/4 of my kitchen - cabinets, countertops, appliances - cleaned them all

Now, of course, I am pooped. Completely.
