This is not a defense of abortion - it is a rationalization of stupidity and low morals

Aside from the incredible snobbishness this woman reveals about herself (lower middle class people are grubby), Barbara Ehrenreich is simple demonstrating that she is lazy, thoughtless, stupid and immoral. Why? Because she had not only one, but two abortions as a married woman. And apparently, she thinks that there is no reason for her to feel bad about it.

There are many, many forms of birth control, apparently, she was too lazy or incompetent to be sure that she and her husband used them. She didn't want to be lower middle class with children - so, Barbara - why couldn't you have let someone else have those babies that you murdered? There is such a thing as adoption.

Anyway, I have no use for a woman such as her. Or her husband, for that matter - why could not he had been a real man and had a vasectomy?

If you want to read the whole stupid diatribe, go to the New York Times.

Honesty begins at home, so I should acknowledge that I had two abortions during my all-too-fertile years. You can call me a bad woman, but not a bad mother. I was a dollar-a-word freelancer and my husband a warehouse worker, so it was all we could do to support the existing children at a grubby lower-middle-class level. And when it comes to my children - the actual extrauterine ones, that is - I was, and remain, a lioness.

At least she admits that the non-extrauterine children were children.

I wonder how they feel about their murdered siblings?
