Airport Rangers in Houston

Eye On The Left has a great post on how the Houston Airport is increasing security.

They are allowing folks with horses (who have gone thru security checks) to ride on trails around the perimeter of the airport. These good people must have cell phones with them and are added eyes to report suspicious activity around the airfield.

Willy, for one, would love to volunteer to do ride around the Kansas City International Airport. He loves sticking his nose into other people's business.

As a frequent flyer, I think this concept should be instituted at many airports surrounded by woods and fields. There is a definite threat that some asshat could shoot down a plane taking off or landing, and this kind of activity can only help to deter those terrorists.
