It's time to celebrate the birthday of our buddy Bill, and the joy of the blogosphere is that it doesn't matter that he's gone halfway around the world to fly again. Well ... it does mean that the GA squad is on stand-by, waiting to put out the fire from the candles, of course ... but I digress.
Awwww, thanks, kids -- beats a CARE package, in my book.
Okay, okay -- *not* doing this by candlelight.
And it's my turn to give *you* a present. In keeping with John's fascination with Stuff You See In The 'Stan, here's a more modern Whatziss for ya,,,
Well, I *told* you it was a present, didn't I? We now return control of this blog to --- uhhhhh -- hmmmmm -- yeah, "control" is kind of a silly notion, in this place...
And *also* because I can...
Happy Birthday, Bill :D !!!
May the next year find you still flying and having a great time with the locals 8) !

Thanks, Jeff -- but it's dangerous enough just hanging around the Castle. Look for what a TOW tube looks like before it's just a tube later.
Cricket (when you pop in)-- the recipe link never launched back when. Mailer D burped on the addy I had for you.
Neat suit! And a superb job of PhotoShopping my visage on
*whap!* Owwwww!
Gotta go to work. Don't wreck what's left of my rep while I'm gone...

A laser aiming light on the cannon of those Paki AH-1s? Does that also serve as a rangefinder?
I gotta admit, I *love* the visual of the Bad Guy™ hunched on the ground planting a Nefarious Device™ seeing the red dot bouncing on him and then looking up to see... nothing anymore.

Hey Chief, have you fond any Japanese Peonies in Stan yet?

How about a nice new zipper pull? I'm sure your old one is worn out, with the 27" of travel and all.

Happy Birthday, Bill!

No red dot, John -- the AIM-1 uses a near-IR beam. Just a small glowy spot visible with the goggles, but the first three rounds will impact within an inch of the spot. And if there's dust or humidity in the air, you wind up with a thousand-meter-long Jedi Light Saber. A green one.
No rangefinder function, though -- *that* laser lives in the TSU.

Fooey. I like my idea better. Great shot of the GA, btw. Takes a special filter to catch them *that* clearly.

Happy Birthday, Sweetie. Present will be here soon!
*GIANT hugs* :D

Thanks, MA! Gee, I love getting waved to by the hawt chic
*whap!* Owwww!
IMRAN! Bachao! The body armor, lao-lao!
Fooey. I like my idea better.
Yeah, but with the IR dot, the look on his *buddy's* face is priceless. For a couple of seconds, anyway...
Hiya, Boq -- Haven't found Japanese anythings over here, except for the cartoon shows the Shadows watch on Saturday morning. They only watch so they can study the cool hand-to-hand moves, though...
*GIANT hugs*
*snap-crackle-pop*
Thanks, FuzzyBee. Now those ribs will match the three from the other day...

Happy Birthday, Bill!
What are you doing to celebrate?
by
Cassandra on August 25, 2007 3:32 PM
Awwww, thanks, Mags. Now, could you slide it a li'l further this way -- the cuffs don't have a whole lotta slack...
Hi, Cassie -- Same as I celebrate every day over here: say a prayer that the power doesn't crap out before I've finis

Here ya go Chief- strap this on! (Down, WK! Down I say!)
by Neffi on August 25, 2007 4:38 PM
Heh. I'm still trying to get a peak inside one of the Mi-8s that live here, Neffi. Got what looks like an LLTV setup in the nose. It's also got a Line of Death around it and I'm not sure I want to test the sentry's reflexes.
Or the imaginary armor we wear over here...

Oh but the Hind is much more Hip...

Hah! Still #1 *and* #2 for that!

Aw, tha's okay, Chief. Just send em when you get a chance. My addy is tazWOMYN1at yahoo dot com.
Lower case before the at.
Happy Birthday to you and many more. Lessee...*rummages around in goody sack*
Ah. Here we are:
Melon medley squash
vege panini on the grill
Salad and key lime cheesecake.
by Cricket on August 25, 2007 10:07 PM
E-gram inbound. Mailer D liked the addy this time.
When I get back, I think I'll be eating salad for a week. I follow the old SEA dictum, "If it ain't cooked and you can't peel it, don't eat it."
*peering suspiciously at the shadows above the chandelier*

happy birthday, Chief! You know we love you!
And, my grandma said that "your only as old as you act". In which case, there should be about six candles on your b-day cake. ;)

'Cause we don't want you fallin' off no more ladders when KtLW goes on a 'make it pretty' jag.

I subscribe to the Helicopter Pilot's Creed, kat: "You have to grow old -- you *don't* have to grow up."
'Cause we don't want you fallin' off no more ladders...
Geez, ry -- you *know* I'm afraid of heights...

Sorry I missed the party, SugarButtons.... I was busy entertaining the troops last night with some pole dancing and swinging.
And speaking of swinging.... you'll find your present in email. I'm sure John will thank me for not posting it here.
*KISSES*
by WereKitten on August 26, 2007 10:12 PM
In case the rest of you are wondering.... it's a variation of Bill's "Monkey Harness".
On a swing.

Oh. Good. Lowered...

That's what the Engineer said about the food over there. Fresh stuff was a treat. Since he came home in the summer, the first thing he asked for foodwise was fruit and then salads.
