Observations on things military

With the holes in front, lips skinned back in a snarl, red in tooth and claw.  That's how a warrior goes down.  LtCol Raible and Sergeant Atwell.

Moving to the sound of the guns, and protecting your own.  Don't mess with my tribe.  Cry Havoc! And let slip the Operators.

"Rid the world of those savages!" My new motto...
... and safely Home.

There is no question where those souls have ended. My most sincere condolences to their families and friends.

"Rid the world of these savages!", indeed.
The lives of these two heroes, and those of several thousand other American warriors are worth far more than the entire land, people, culture and potential of Afghanistan.

Time to declare victory and not waste another precious American life or dollar on this worthless hell hole, or the savages whi inhabit it.  Let them go back to killing each other, and wish them success at it.
What John said.
Atwell will  be laid to rest Saturday in Kokomo, Indiana.

We'll express the condolences of the American Legion, Department of Indiana on Friday at 3:00.
I concur with Threads, above.  I also concur with P. J. O'Rourke, who says that we pay attention to Afghanistan at our peril. Get outta there, ignore those people, and let 'em rot in their own craziness.

Or, if we really need to run a petroleum pipeline through there, get all Roman on their asses, as in sowing the ground with salt after doing the nasty to them.

I don't think anything in between will work.
