Pity Admiral McRaven... one assumes he understands the underlying hypocrisy of the "whole of government" in this.

WASHINGTON - Special operations chief Adm. Bill McRaven warned his troops, current and former, that he would take legal action against anyone found to have exposed sensitive information that could cause fellow forces harm.

"We will pursue every option available to hold members accountable, including criminal prosecution where appropriate," the four-star commander wrote, in an open, unclassified letter emailed to the active-duty special operations community Thursday, and obtained by The Associated Press.

Now, if we'd only take the same hard line with the non-uniformed leakers. Because, like it or not, that's what's driving this. The leaks from the politicals. But the politicals get to use the Generals to suppress the response.

You have hit a home run on the point of the politicos leaking as they please.  It is depressing.  Your point on using the UCMJ and commanders as a hammer on the uniformed is spot on.  You should be king for a day.
What you send around, comes around. Break the honor culture and then ...  Lo! The honor culture is broken. Too dumb to be allowed on the short bus. Shouldn't even be allowed to stand on the curb behind it.
How about this war's crop of "winter soldiers" who made up crap that only served to help inflame our enemy, both foreign and domestic, and encourage same to kick up the killing of American servicemen and women another notch?
