La Barricade

(Encliquéz for maximum Lebel action)

Well, I don't actually *see* a Lebel.  I see, from bottom to top, a Mauser, a Berthier rifle, and what looks to be a Berthier carbine...

Oh, and in the far back, I believe that is a Chatellerault M1923 machinegun, with the bipod folded back.

Fertile territory for Massa John, I sez.

It's a nice picture.

Dude in the front is concerned with hearing conservation, but cares less for his sandle shod feet.

Greetings:  especially "1idvet"

Besides, and especially for the stylish Francais, socks and sandals are "un faux pas, n'est ce, pas"?

And, the other side of "La Barricade" just might work a little better, if you know what I mean.

I like the fact he's pretty much at the muzzle of the Berthier.  That's going to be an unpleasant place, regardless of one's sartorial foxpaws.

You guys are experts at taking a nice shot and poking at all the holes in it not to mention identifying all the bangsticks.  The sign appears to be in English.

Sign looks to be Spanish to me.  The whole makeup of this photo looks like the Spanish Civil War.  Really excellent photograph.

Hey, I'm an analyst.  I get paid to do this sort of thing...

 Paris.

What's the fun in knowing something if you can't show it off and show everyone else they are a know nothing ignoramus?

Geeesh - All of those guys look like they loved to make double use of the Gun Lube for both their bang sticks and their coiffes.  Them pompidours are slick!

Fred - thanks!  I was wondering about Paris because of the Mauser - it's a 98K, and the rest of the mix of the weapons were not really typical of the Spanish Civil War - which, like many, was my first thought.
