FRICKIN' PAY YOUR G**DAMNED TAXES YOU PUSILLANIMOUS PISSANTS!

No, really.  I mean, most of us manage to, you bleepin' hypocrites.  Oh, I know, you're just too busy... doing the important work of government.  And it's all for the children, etc etc etc.

Yadda yadda yadda.   Talk to the hand.

It should be a presumptive firing offense when you work for the FedGov if you don't pay your taxes.  Sure, stuff happens.  And that should be a defense.  But you should have to frickin' defend yourself.

A new report just out from the Internal Revenue Service reveals that 36 of President Obama's executive office staff owe the country $833,970 in back taxes. These people working for Mr. Fair Share apparently haven't paid any share, let alone their fair share.

Good golly gee.  I know the Republicans won't hammer the Dems with this like they should... because they're not clean, either.

True, but irrelevant. If you take that tack to its logical conclusion, ANY transgression by the GOP renders their critique of Dem behavior as unacceptable. Virtue does not mean perfection, only the constant and honest pursuit thereof. I may not be perfect, but that doesn't deny me the right to point out what I consider heinous behavior by others.

Politics ain't beanbag. The Dems malign ALL opposition as a matter of course (See: Clinton, Bill; Carville, James; Davis, Lanny; et al.) I don't see why the GOP can't. THIS is what it will take to defeat the Chicago Machine.

Since they are all Federal employees why can't the IRS just garnish their wages?  I wouldn't even ask for 100% either.  Maybe 80%.  And they should get their own personal TSA agent who frisks them every time they enter a building with honest taxpayers in it.  And they have to write on a blackboard 500 times every day "I am a dirty rotten scoundrel who should pay more taxes".  And....

I really don't understand this tax system in the US.  It looks like paying tax is optional.  It's very not optional over here.

Well Done! Leaders lead by example, not just by rhetoric or good intentions.

Argent, it's only optional for the elites. Us mundanes would go to debtors prison. And I'l guarantee that it wouldn't be one of the Club Fed vacation spots either.

Overall, the total amount owed is down slightly from September 2009, when more than 282,000 federal workers owed $3.3 billion in taxes.

"... more than 279,000 federal employees and retirees owed $3.4 billion in back income taxes as of Sept. 30, 2010." The total number of *employees* owing taxes is down slightly -- the total *amount* is *up* slightly.

If you consider $100,000,000 a "slight" amount...

That's a lot of interest too.  They need to be incentivised.  I have some rather exotic ideas.  Not prison.  Enough money has been wasted already.

What this really means is those people have other sources of income outside of the gov't that they aren't claiming, or they are cynically claiming dependants they don't have on their W-4. Either way, it does remind one of Leona Helmsley...

Firing offense, hell.  When it's on this scale, it should be a hanging offense.  Right up there alongside  "murder under color of authority."

Or, like Turbo-Tax Timmy, "forgot" to file...
