S-o-o-o-o...

...it seems the Fort Hood Massacre was *not* an attack by an Islamic extremist.

At least, not according to DoD.

It was merely an incident of Workplace Violence.

I guess the Five-Sided Puzzle Palace's next step will be to recall all those Combat Action ribbons and replace them with buttons reading "I survived Incidents of Workplace Violence"...

As a member of the military it would be against regulations for me to refer to whomever in DOD came up with that as "...a f@#%ing moron who should be reduced to E-1 and released from military service (general discharge/for the convenience of the government) for being to stupid to breath unassisted."

Soooooo, I guess OSHA wasn't properly deployed during the latest Southwest Asian Live-fire Exercises?  Damn.  Who knew?

Really? It wasn't? What did DoD do with all those statements from co-workers, to include many many psychiatrists, who reported Hasan as a "ticking time bomb" of violent Islamic hatred toward the U.S? If DoD lost the statements, I'll be happy to put them in touch with the people who told me the dates and times they warned the Army that Hasan was motivated by jihad.

I propose a new regulation -- no one can be assigned to the Pentagon or to the General Staff without having served at least three deployments in a *genuine* danger zone.

The demographic of visitors to the last Job Fair I attended in the Alexandria area was 50% civilian and  50% Pentagon-dwellers-on-their-lunch-break. None of the uniformed types were wearing greens -- they were all in Digi-Cammy and desert boots, and not a one of them had a combat patch.

I'm sure you'd be happy to do that.

And DoD would be *un*happy.

Wotta shame...

Weakness is strength.

Freedom is slavery.

Ignorance is bliss.

Work makes you free.

I suppose next we'll be told all those who died on 9-11 were just victims of workplace violence as well? It is enough to make you want to take a baseball bat to whoever came up with that stupidity.

I don't care if the truth 'hurts' someone, political correctness will kill many more.

The phrase "politically correct" is of Soviet origin. Lenin used it -- he declared that children whose parents were not "politically correct" could be executed without a trial.

Even Stalin balked at that. He insisted that the children receive a trial before they were executed.

Got that, Progressives? Your pet phrase had its origin as a justification for murdering children.

No no, Steve.  In this context, 9/11 was either a Bushalliburton black op, or, at best, a random aviation accident.

As I commented on another blog just now, when I read about stuff like this I pine for my country which used to exist, just like Jubal Harshaw in "Stranger in a Strange Land."

Ah, as Doctor Pournelle says:

"Weep for the Republic!"

But also:

"Despair is a sin."

With smart people like this,  making that comment about “ Workplace Violence”, I'm glad that I'm dumb.

Joe in N Calif, "Work makes you free."

Considering the mindset of the current administration and its other forays into cognative dissonance, I think we should see this quote in its original language:

Arbeit macht frei...

what an unbelievable level of stupidity...

Oldloadr,
"in its original language" - which is kind of ironic, isn't it??

Ah yes, how could I have forgotten that Bush was too stupid to get good grades in college but managed to keep quiet a widespread conspiracy to destroy the World Trade Center (and letting all the Jews escape), while being for the first time that fire melted steel.

Yes, I tend to forget the genius of those on the left.

Yo! Baroness! Got your BLACK AND GOLD for tomorrow? I shall have the flasks for our foray into a... nice warm pub, I say.

Oldloader, given the leanings of the current administration, maybe Работа делает свободным would have been more appropriate.

Nevada, you gave the perfect example of the lefts doublethink - Bush was too stupid to pour pee out of a boot with the instructions written on the heel, but an evil genius who was able to plan and execute the attacks of Sept. 2001 and hide it from the entire world.

Oh Lord, please no!

If that got put into effect, we'd have every idiot burocrate pimping for a "combat slot". All that could do is kill extra soldiers for no good gain.

And we all know Islam is a religion of peace, right?

Got just the job for them.

Gate guard on the camel trail from Jalalabad to Tora Bora...

jorb, by the way, during the Bosnian conflict, I have a few questions. Who was on our side? Who were the adversaries? We fought for the Islamists, against the Christians. Anything that was the trigger for 9/11, was Post-Bosnia. I think we should get our troops, all of our people, out. Politicians do not qualify as troops/people.  Then we should call Santa/Boomer in to bring the appropriate Christmas presents. “Santa knows  if you have been naughty or nice.”

This is the logical progression from this administration's very first act was to remove all referances to the "religion of peace".   Even training manuals were approprietely scrubbed of any offending comments.  Lord I pray that we will have anyone except Imam Obama infesting the white house in one year
