Public Service Announcement

Please, take care of yourself out on the roads this holiday season. A recent joint study conducted by the Department of Health and the Department of Motor Vehicles indicates that 23% of traffic accidents are alcohol related. This means that the remaining 77% are caused by those who drink bottled water, starbucks, soda, juice, energy drinks, and crap like that.

Therefore, beware of those who do not drink alcohol. They cause three times as many accidents.

Lies, damned lies, and statistics.  Gollee, the fun you can have with stats.  Government (especially the budget) is based on that premise.

In somewhat related news, the Canadian Government has issued a travel advisory due to the extreme cold weather.
Anyone travelling in the current icy conditions should make sure they carry the following with them:

Shovel
Blankets or sleeping bag
Extra clothing including hat and gloves
24 hours worth of food
De-Icer
Rock Salt
Flashlight with spare batteries
Road Flares or Reflective Triangles
Emergency petrol can
First Aid Kit
Booster cables
A certain tanker from the Great White North reports he felt like a fool on the bus this morning...

Looking at the thread on statistics and BillT's comment, there seems to be a message. Are you "Gentlemen" suggesting that we might have a "BS Blizzard?" If so, we're going to need much more than a shovel, more like a Cat Front End Loader, the big one.

Let's not forget the dangers of the industrial chemical, Hydric Acid,  Here is a link to the MSDS on it:

Nope, it's 4C outside which is 4 degrees above the 'roll down sleeves' point. But the local hill has about four feet of white stuff on it.

And I have my emergency stuff on a key-ring; cargo pockets are good to have.
