Somedays are diamonds...

An Afghan National Army pet monkey sits on top of an Advanced Combat Helmet observing a favorite cigar belonging to U.S. Army 1st Lt. John Pleasants from 127th Military Police Company, Fort Carson, during a Key Leader Engagement in Marawarh district of Konar province, Afghanistan, Sept. 9, 2011. Pleasants is a part of a routine Key Leader Engagement operation that enables Task Force Cacti, 2-35th Infantry win over the local population and show the insurgents they are no longer able to use Marawarah district for safe haven. 2-35th Infantry Division? Really?  No such unit existson the rolls of the Army.  Perhaps the good Specialist meant to write, 2d Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, the "Cacti", or as abbreviated, 2-35 IN.  In the age of NIPR and SIPR there is really no excuse for such shoddy work, even if her chain of command is equally ignorant/indifferent.

How compforting to observe that even the moderator suffers from the duble post gremlins.... And here I thought it was just me....

Looks like Obama can claim he has finally gotten the Afghan monkey off our backs.

Now we need a multi-billion dollar tobacco-free program for all primates.

Let's just hope that monkey has not overindulged in fresh fruits and needs to ....

Heh. Centurion - I was in a hurry this morning... I *did* correct the "Fort Carlson" reference, but totally spaced the unit.

Time to say things about the Meat Heads?

Cheers

ummm...   beg to differ, but....

it would appear she actually has the unit properly designated.  she clearly labels it as Task Force, therefore a Battalion equivalent size unit, with the headquarters of the 3-25 Infantry at the heart of it.  where are you seeing her refer to a "35th Infantry Division" in there???

[NB: Lvncenturion was correct when he made his comment - I have since edited the caption- the Armorer]

35th Infantry Division is a National Guard division, one of the few combat divisions remaining in the NG, now that most of the units are restructured as enhanced combat brigades.  They have AC units in their structure, and FT. Carson is one of their favorite training areas, and probably home to the active duty folks.  Back in ARTEP days I worked a couple of brigade slice exercises at Carson and Hood with units of the 35th....decent folks !

guess i just got to the party too late.

The 35th is headquartered right here in Leavenworth, Martin.

I always was concerned in this subject and still am, thanks for putting up.
