 John, well done. When we think about the last 10 years, we should be thinking about the last 20 years, instead. This changes all of our final conclusions. I like the title of the NRO article, “Were the wars worth it?”  In a strange way, it sounds like you're getting into a taxi and the driver starts the meter. Where do we go from here? When do we know when we have reached our destination? Yes, this is what I got from your comments. It is one thing to start these things, but a completely different beast to  end them. There is a place for the Military and a place for politics, but they do not mix. One of the most important points you made is this, “Know your enemy”, he has a voice in this discussion.

 I just have one question for you,  in your view, was this a political war or a Military war?

From what I have seen, this is, “The New Greatest Generation”! By the way, you "Old Pharts", who stayed in after 9/11, that includes you.
