Remember ACORN? Remember back in October 2009, when ACORN and ACORN-affiliated organizations were barred from receiving gummint funding, aka, taxpayer dollars?
Betcha thought even the President From ACORN wouldn't have the gall to break a law that he signed with quite a bit of fanfare, didn't ya?
If you did, you were wrong. He did it in March, to the tune of $79,819.
The grant went to Affordable Housing Centers of America (AHCOA), which was the ACORN-affiliate ACORN Housing Corporation Inc. (AHCI) when TROTUS* signed the law, and -- despite WH protestations that AHCOA is an entirely new entity -- AHCOA retains the same executive director, the same board of directors, the same mailing address it used when it was AHCI, and -- the icing on the cake -- GAO's website lists the HUD grant recipient as “ACORN Housing Corporation Inc.”
But I'm only pointing all that out because I am obviously a raaaaaaaacist...

I cannot argue with that, or the facts, or the money trail.
Good golly, the contract that currently pays my freight was for more than that, and I'm guessing he didn't approve that one, either, much less knows about it.
Fine to point out that HUD might be in violation of the law, and yeah, the Prez is titularly responsible, but we're ascribing a level of personal responsibility here that doesn't exist.

“I've been fighting alongside Acorn on issues you care about my entire career," [said then-Senator Obama]. "Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, Acorn was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work.” Barack Obama served as the Illinois executive director of Project Vote in 1992. His campaign paid more than $800,000 to an ACORN organization to help “get out the vote” in his successful primary campaign against then-Sen. Hillary Clinton.
Obama has been and continues to be elbow-deep in the mess that is ACORN. Even if he did not personally hand over the cash-stuffed briefcase, he remains
culpableresponsibleculpable.Well, the left blames "W" for earthquakes and Tsunamis (http://www.americandaily.com/article/6369). Presidential politics is a full-contact sport.
Since The One came out of the Chicago machine, it's much easier for me to believe he is up to no good all the time that to give him a pass on anything. But then, since I'm a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal Redneck Hillbilly born and raised below the Mason-Dixon line; I don't really care what all of the Marxist-Lenninist, Nanny-State nut jobs (aka most Dems) think of me or call me. :)
"This is just me trying to *not* be like the people we all love to excoriate. That's all. I'm just going to sit in here and play with my toys while you guys have your Two-Minute Hate."

Are we suggesting that the bureaucrats in HUD would not willflully violate the law without receiving assurance from Oh High that there would be no consequences for doing it, especially in the light of a 2010 report from its own IG that ACORN Housing Corp/ACHOA had misappropriated funds from its 2004 and 2005 HUD grants to the tune of $3.4million?
Are we suggesting that it was a *White House* lawyer, rather than a HUD attorney, who claimed that ACORN Housing Corporation, Inc., wasn't really ACORN Housing Corporation, Inc., despite being listed that way on the GAO report and despite having the same higher-ups and address?
Yup. We so suggest.
Btw, the figure is now $541k.

“perhaps no administration official has had more interaction with Acorn [sic] than [Shaun] Donovan” saith the NYT -- Donovan "worked particularly closely [with ACORN] during his five years as Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg’s housing development commissioner..." Obie appointed Donovan to the office of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development -- HUD.
In other news, American Spectator reported *last year* that "...'in a move ignored by the media, OMB director Peter Orszag circulated a directive to federal agencies ordering them to begin funding ACORN again." No bureaucrat that high in the food chain is going to make that kind of decision on his own.

Yer all poopy-heads.
[Buzzy sounding voice from a tinny speaker: John Donovan, you are fined $1 for a Rulez Violation]
+10 for catching the reference.
Hey Grumpy! Bring down the det cord while I go get the Ma Deuce and Uzis. I'll see if someone up there can give a hand with free samples I got from Lake City for the .50.
John had it spec'ed to fit the nozzle on the flamethrower.
Which is inside the arsenal. With John. Next to the door.
Just sayin'...

Possibly. But you can find it on the WH website...
"...the President has launched a line-by-line review of the federal budget to pinpoint what programs works and what needs to be terminated or reduced in scope.."
"...it is important that they [entitlement programs] are run efficiently and effectively. To that end, the Administration will make significant investments in expanding oversight activities..."
I'll be the one whistling "I'm An Oscar Meyer Wiener".
Be well, John Donovan.

Case in point, the new F-35 has a primary engine, made by Pratt & Whitney, who owns them? Who are the primary stockholders? How much did the shares of stock cost, the well known stockholders? Yeah, of course, this is not a conflict of interest. **Yeah, Right!**
