Stealth Funding

Nope, not funding for stealth technology -- sneaky funding for an organization that was specifically barred from receiving funding.

Remember ACORN? Remember back in October 2009, when ACORN and ACORN-affiliated organizations were barred from receiving gummint funding, aka, taxpayer dollars?

Betcha thought even the President From ACORN wouldn't have the gall to break a law that he signed with quite a bit of fanfare, didn't ya?

If you did, you were wrong. He did it in March, to the tune of $79,819.

The grant went to Affordable Housing Centers of America (AHCOA), which was the ACORN-affiliate ACORN Housing Corporation Inc. (AHCI) when TROTUS* signed the law, and -- despite WH protestations that AHCOA is an entirely new entity -- AHCOA retains the same executive director, the same board of directors, the same mailing address it used when it was AHCI, and -- the icing on the cake -- GAO's website lists the HUD grant recipient as “ACORN Housing Corporation Inc.”

But I'm only pointing all that out because I am obviously a raaaaaaaacist...

If we had an unbiased MSM, Obama would be the new Nixon. But Biden as Ford is scary.

"He [Obama] lies!" said one Congressman.

I cannot argue with that, or the facts, or the money trail.

Um, while I'm all for bashing where bashing is due, we really aren't suggesting the Prez approved this personally, are we?  Did I miss that smoking memo?

Good golly, the contract that currently pays my freight was for more than that, and I'm guessing he didn't approve that one, either, much less knows about it.

Fine to point out that HUD might be in violation of the law, and yeah, the Prez is titularly responsible, but we're ascribing a level of personal responsibility here that doesn't exist.

According to the Judicial Watch site:

“I've been fighting alongside Acorn on issues you care about my entire career," [said then-Senator Obama]. "Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, Acorn  was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work.” Barack Obama served as the Illinois executive director of Project Vote in 1992. His campaign paid more than $800,000 to an ACORN organization to help “get out the vote” in his successful primary campaign against then-Sen. Hillary Clinton.

Obama has been and continues to be elbow-deep in the mess that is ACORN. Even if he did not personally hand over the cash-stuffed briefcase, he remains culpable responsible culpable.

"... but we're ascribing a level of personal responsibility here that doesn't exist."

Well, the left blames "W" for earthquakes and Tsunamis (http://www.americandaily.com/article/6369).  Presidential politics is a full-contact sport.

Since The One came out of the Chicago machine, it's much easier for me to believe he is up to no good all the time that to give him a pass on anything.  But then, since I'm a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal Redneck Hillbilly born and raised below the Mason-Dixon line; I don't really care what all of the Marxist-Lenninist, Nanny-State nut jobs (aka most Dems) think of me or call me. :)

"This is just me trying to *not* be like the people we all love to excoriate.  That's all.  I'm just going to sit in here and play with my toys while you guys have your Two-Minute Hate."

I think at last count, ACORN was indicted in 11 different states for various voter fraud issues. Mr. Obama was very close to ACORN and worked for their voter drive in Ill. They were or are his friends and helpers. Why wouldn't he take an interest in their welfare and look out for them? He hasn't stopped running for re-election since his oath of office, so he would still need their help.

John: There is a difference between revulsion, disgust, and sometimes pity on the one hand and hate on the other...  Just a thought...

[Sound of rifles, machine guns and pistols being happily fiddled with..]

8^)

This is *not* just on one side but both sides do it. You don't think the Republicans do it? Pull your head out, wash your face, clean your teeth and smell the coffee. I don't hate, I'm not angry but just disgusted.

...we really aren't suggesting the Prez approved this personally, are we?

Are we suggesting that the bureaucrats in HUD would not willflully violate the law without receiving assurance from Oh High that there would be no consequences for doing it, especially in the light of a 2010 report from its own IG that ACORN Housing Corp/ACHOA had misappropriated funds from its 2004 and 2005 HUD grants to the tune of $3.4million?

Are we suggesting that it was a *White House* lawyer, rather than a HUD attorney, who claimed that ACORN Housing Corporation, Inc., wasn't really ACORN Housing Corporation, Inc., despite being listed that way on the GAO report and despite having the same higher-ups and address?
Yup. We so suggest.

Btw, the figure is now $541k.

[undecipherable metallic noises continue]

When we do a 'Change of Command', it is preceded by a Board of Inquiry, which identifies all the personnel, equipment, kit and facilities which officially belong to the unit. Because when the incoming CO signs his CoC scroll as the new CO, he takes on responsibility for everything and person listed on the BoI's report. I kinda think of the president as being in that position: he signed for it.

Cheers

.. but we're ascribing a level of personal responsibility here that doesn't exist.

Bets?

“perhaps no administration official has had more interaction with Acorn [sic] than [Shaun] Donovan” saith the NYT -- Donovan "worked particularly closely [with ACORN] during his five years as Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg’s housing development commissioner..." Obie appointed Donovan to the office of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development -- HUD.

In other news, American Spectator reported *last year* that "...'in a move ignored by the media, OMB director Peter Orszag circulated a directive to federal agencies ordering them to begin funding ACORN again."  No bureaucrat that high in the food chain is going to make that kind of decision on his own.

[la-la-la-la-la-la-la]

Oh, geez --  I wasn't suggesting that you were related to Shaun Donovan, honest!

I am waiting for The Armourer to say "there is a maze of twisty passages all alike in here" to cover for him not coming out!  At least his arms room is big enough to play in for a while.

Nah -- he's too busy pretending not to read the thread to actually comment on it.

[la-la-la-la-la-la-la]

Yer all poopy-heads.

[Buzzy sounding voice from a tinny speaker: John Donovan, you are fined $1 for a Rulez Violation]

+10 for catching the reference.

Don't make us come in there Sir John!

Hey Grumpy!  Bring down the det cord while I go get the Ma Deuce and Uzis. I'll see if someone up there can give a hand with free samples I got from Lake City for the .50.

Uhhhh, QM? That peephole in the arsenal door?

John had it spec'ed to fit the nozzle on the flamethrower.

Which is inside the arsenal. With John. Next to the door.

Just sayin'...

Oh sure, like you know what the three seashells are for!

Um, while I'm all for bashing where bashing is due, we really aren't suggesting the Prez approved this personally, are we? Did I miss that smoking memo?

Possibly. But you can find it on the WH website...

"...the President has launched a line-by-line review of the federal budget to pinpoint what programs works and what needs to be terminated or reduced in scope.."

"...it is important that they [entitlement programs] are run efficiently and effectively. To that end, the Administration will make significant investments in expanding oversight activities..."

One good thing Sly, in our new world, we're not going to have to worry about that gonorrhea superbug, since we'll never touch each other anyway.  See you at Taco Bell tonight?

I'll be the one whistling "I'm An Oscar Meyer Wiener".
Be well, John Donovan.

At least good old "Dubya" was smart enough not to post his nonsense on the internet.

Case in point, the new F-35 has a primary engine, made by Pratt & Whitney, who owns them? Who are the primary stockholders? How much did the shares of stock cost, the well known stockholders? Yeah, of course, this is not a conflict of interest. **Yeah, Right!**
