Where's your "can do" spirit Grumpy?

I backtracked through your previous posts as well and was quite impressed with them as well. You have quite a knack for blogging and I just wanted to let you know someone was reading what you have written.

 Quartermaster,

Sir, be my guest, it will surely cure the hemorrhoids.

To be honest, the first thought that sprang to mind was, "If that thing crashes right there, it's gonna shut down the primary and trap that Moose."

I reckon I still don't trust the things.

Is there a requirement for all military aircraft to land on the active runway? Regardless of the type of aircraft?
Or is it that this runway has the only surface capable of supporting these diverse aircraft?
Is the Osprey not allowed to hover taxi to parking?

The Osprey is not allowed to do a lot of things it can do, and can't do a lot of things it was touted as being able to do.

Can it autorotate to a survivable landing?  I mean, what happens if you run out of fuel in one of those things?

Miss Kinsky above seems to have read neither the Armorer's warning to spammers, nor my previous comment mentioning bolt cutters.

The whirly-giggy thing is about to pick up the tow rope for the glider in the background. Ir will be an assisted take-off.

Cheers

Can it autorotate to a survivable landing?

Nope. It can't *glide* to one, either. So, what happens when you run out of fuel? Heh...

Heinrichs, can you just see that? As you see them rolling down the runway, you hear, “TWANG!" The pilot yells, “What was that?”  One of the crew says, “We just left our---' tail'  on the ground."

BillT, I have this sense that you don't believe everything you read. Some would say that you are a little skeptical, but I believe you are more than a little cynical, Welcome to the "Old Pharts  Society”. I think that is a fair assessment of you. I can't tease you about it, because I am worse than you.
