A moment of Gunner Zen...

GULF OF ADEN (Feb. 28, 2011) An MK-38 25mm gun system is fired during a live-fire exercise aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Mason (DDG 87). Mason is deployed as part of the Enterprise Carrier Strike Group and assigned to Combined Task Force 151, supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility. BTW, the Ghost of a Flea has found a perfect accent piece for the Living Room of Argghhh!  Well, okay, the Arms Room, since I rather suspect SWWBO might finally put her foot down.  So, hit that tip jar, ladles and jellybeans!  At only $24K, this sucker is priced to move, and we raise more than that for Soldier's Angels, right?

Couldn't use a PayPal tip jar, they'd faint dead away if they found out I was using their service for a live full-auto aircraft cannon!

So, you'd rather have the squid version than the green machine version with attached M2/M3 Bradley?

Well, mounted up on the high ground, slaved to a console in the Keep...  um, yeah. I would. Keep the poachers and revenooers away.

Me, I would lust after the Lightning it used to sit in.

Every time I think about how the USAF deliberately destroyed several hundred low-time P-38s in Korea in the late 1940s, I cringe...

That would be serious preps for Zombieclypse. I think I'd want both Squid and Green Machine versions for full Anti-Zombie ops. Sooner or later, you'll want to move over to the offensive.

Are the 20mm rounds that go with that Hispano-Souza live?  If so, don't 20mm rounds qualify as DDs?  With the attendant $200/per transfer tax?

If the guy's wondering why he can't sell the cannon, the $200k in taxes any buyer might have to pay for the ammo might be a good reason why.

Quartermaster - if we go that route, I'm gonna hafta start charging you guys.  Maintaining a mech force is 'spensive.

The P38 always was my favorite fighter.  And seemingly always underrated.  Never makes any "TopTen" list even though our two top aces flew them.

John, you can talk with Bill about how Wallenstein paid for his stuff. There might be something there you can use. I'm afraid if you started charging us to maintain your anti-Zombie force, we wouldn't be able to afford you.
