There's more over the fold...
I do miss walking the floor of The Shot Show, which is being held in Las Vegas until tomorrow. At times it is held in Orlando, but lately more often than not it is held in Sin City.
Like a kid in Willy Wonkas magic chocolate factory (sans the Oompaloompas of course), I was. But more important, I miss being stopped by business contacts and acquaintances every 20 steps or so. and have conversations that would go like this:
And on it would go for three days straight. Good times...-Hey Bob, howyoudoin'?
-Have you solved that welding issue on your 30-Round Mags yet?
-Yeah I know; you've been working in controlling that dammed humidity problem at the assembly line for years.
-But summer wicking in Wisconsin can be a bear to control, you know.
-Get back to me when you get that MIL-Spec Cert, will ya?
In any case, let me link you all with a couple of clips of what used to be my life:
Oh and it's good to see that Gunny Ermey is still flogging Glocks:
If you want to make it, you better all hurry, for the show closes tomorrow evening.

And, again from a complete n00b... in that shot, at least, looks like the non-business end has any number of unpleasantly non-rounded edges, such as one smashes oneself and one's gear against, and the body of it is in need of some sort of cladding, lest it gather copious quantities of dust, mud, water, and other undesirable things. This item is more by way of assembling all the cool concepts in one functioning mass, than demonstrating a soldier- and field-tested and -proofed candidate weapon, I'm assuming?
Sigh couldn't get to SHOT this year. Here is my caption:
"Yes the sight is lovely, but does it have a coffee cup holder?"
On second thought, there's probably a lot more than 1000 in that bunch. Would you like to open a branch office in FLA?
