From an email:
I’m writing you today about an invitation for people to post stories about what Veterans Day means to them on ArmyStrongStories.com this week. We’re also inviting veterans to share their experiences. This is a way of honoring veterans and their memories and educating others about the incredible sacrifice that our Soldiers are making every day.

Anyone can visit http://armystrongstories.com/tell-your-story  and share their story.

We’ve reached out to a number of veterans groups, and we’d love to get milbloggers involved as well, both to spread the word and to share their stories. Let me know if you have any questions or would like more information.

Spread the word around. Tweet it.  Facebook it.  I know most of you won't contribute, being shy as you are - but you might find there are stories out there as well told as our Bill tells 'em...

Don't let your stories die with you...

There are guys out there who tell 'em a lot better than I do -- I've shoo'ed a couple toward the site already.

Bill, I don't think the Plantation Rd. Saigon TINSs count....

I had to think about what did "TINS" mean.  Took me a moment.  In The Air Force, tall tales usually start out "There I was..."

Rhein Main AFB, Frankfurt, West Germany.  The evening/night when the Iranian Hostages came back after 444 days of captivity.  Cold, windy, and I was working the Clinic's ambulance on the flight line in case something went wrong with the inbound C-141.  We worried like hell that something would go wrong just when they were coming in and were very relieved that it went well.  I took pictures as the hostages got off of the aircraft.  Lots of cheers, lots of tears.
Security at Wiesbaden hospital was tight while they were there.  A good event in my life.

I actually *did* get to see Saigon, the Pearl of the Orient.

Once on the way in and once on the way out...
