Kalashnikov Grenade Launcher

It's about time. Over four decades have flown-by since our Armed Forces adopted the M16/M203 Assault Rifle/Grenade Launcher Combo. It seems that the Ruskies are about to adopt a similar configuration for their AK's. Behold their prototype:

It's a work in progress, but I'm sure that they'll work the kinks out of the system in no time.

Channeling their inner Murray.

Yes...and it's almost silent, except for the "thoink" of the launcher. Ingenious.

Looks to me like it "might would have" some Davy Crocket-like properties to it. How fast can you run?? ML

Not to turn a funny thread into a serious and educational opportunity, but there are pictures of a WW2 American GI welding together some cable and what looks to be a truck's leaf spring into a ballista he was intending to use to lauch grenades as the Germans around the time of the Battle of the Bulge. Considering the forces involved the lad's grenades would have air-bursted long before they finished the first half of their ballistic arc, but I'm sure it kept his mind off of the daily stressors of war for a spell.

McGyver's gotten old...

No, it just migrated to his chin.

If he hauls all the way back on the pouch, those bipod legs are going to assume the prone position -- with possible reperconcussions exceeding those emanating from catching a watermelon in the snot locker...

Was just going to reference the watermelon video, same results with a grenade would be very bad.

In USSR, grenades launch you!
