AMEN!

Y'all don't worry as long as that BS (*Not BloodSpite*) makes no sense. Y'all worry when it does make sense.  If you see a politician trying to cover your "six", guaranteed, it will be way too close, you're *screwed*! Always remember, Pugnacious Stupidity is color blind!

I agree with John (NTA),  *AMEN!*

In order to renew my (expired) driver's licence,  it seems I have to produce several documents from columns  A, B, and C, among them Birth Cert., SS card, utility bills, lease, etc. (I no longer possess some of those documents)  I fail to see what possession or presentation of these documents has to do with certifying my ability to safely operate a motor vehicle on the public roads.

My (expired) license wears the endorsements "Safe Driver" and  "Also Motorcycle."  In other words,  the State recognizes that I don't tend to run into people  and am co-ordinated enough to work a bike.  However, they're not sure of my identity?  And where I live?

Guys, it's not an ID card, just a licence to work a car.

In contrast, my voter's registration card is a piece of paper, granted to me on my say- so on showing up at the Clerk of Elections' office. The clerk there was actually horrified when I offered to produce proof that I was a native-born citizen of Georgia, and thus of the USA, and later FL.  She said that they were not allowed to consider such things,  and were required to take applicant's word on eligibility to vote.

I ask y'all, is that upside down and backwards, or what?

P.s. Motor Voter and Real ID are two sides of the same debased counterfeit coin.

The point of producing utility bills for ID is that your nationality and citizenship status are specifically not considered. It's a way of appearing to ask for documentation without asking the important questions.

Yeah, Martin, but the Driver's License was not  intended to be an identity card, anyway! I believe it's still the law in FL that you cannot suffer any penalty whatsoever for driving without a license as long as you later produce said license in court.  I believe that law was written back when we dint have, and dint approve of, such Nazi European things as ID cards.

Registering to vote is the most important thing, and the requirements for doing so are the most slack and laughable!

The Dems in NJ were caught registering aliens to vote when they showed up at various DMV offices to apply for drivers' licences.

They protested that they were innocent of any wrongdoing because they didn't register any *illegal* aliens -- at least, none that they knew for sure were illegals...
