KIKI! So good to see her again!

RG

Kiki's a cat's name. All my cats have been named kiki. All my dogs have been named doggy. I'm just super creative like that.

Don't tell *our* Kiki that.  She was named by her previous staff - but she has sacrificed all four canines in the service of the Castle (as they are sticking in enemies of the demesne) so I wouldn't say a word of opprobrium to her.  She *is* a veteran of theBattle of the Meadow, after all.

The current Castle Interior Guard hight: Hal, Meriwether, Little Orphan Annie, Barnacle, Cleo, Sven, and DC (short for Dumped Cat), and the Auld Soldier's Auxiliary, Damncat, BIBi (Bitch In the Basement - so named by the Armourer's mother), and Elizabeth, more often known as Lizzie.

The Exterior Guard are: Recruit Private Molly, Private Suellen, Sergeant Buffy the Coyote Slayer, Sergeant Major (R) Kiki and Guard Captain Gunner.

Passed members of the Interior and Exterior Guard are:Interior: Cleo, Little Girl, Rest Stop, Gabby, Ninja.  Passed members of the Exterior Guard are: Guard Captain Sebastian, Sergeant Major Mickey McBear, Sergeants Little Guy, Shadow, and Whiskey. And we can't forget the only *detached* member of the Interior Guard, Gandalf the Grey, who was detached to provide the SecFor for Prodigal Grandson Mile.

And all, save Molly and Buffy, are rescues, and many were self-presenting volunteers, not press-ganged from the local places of incarceration and execution.

Though we have rescued a few from Death Row.

The Castle Argghhh! Sematary will soon have a statue of Saint Francis, and contains the mortal remains of all the passed members of the Guard, plus select members of the Critters of Castle Argghhh! Farm - Satchmo, Darling, and Mary Ann. (Three particularly engaging critters, a bantamn rooster, banty hen, and rabbit). I expect, in time, the goats and Destriers of Argghhh! will find their way there, too.

Hell, I might even try to get SWWBO and I in there, in time. Why not?

OT ALERT! 7.1 mag quake in S. Island NZ, major damage=Murray checked in OK going for beer waiting for the UN ...  _._

Yeah, we've been harassing Murray in email.

Junior, my cat, was adopted from the pound when I lived in Arkansas.  My dogs are the product of a stray my roommate at the time brought home.   We named her Dixie, and she wasn't fixed, and my roommate's dog, Herc (short for Hercules) wasn't fixed either.  My roommate wasn't home that summer (she was at "opera camp" in Eureka Springs) and I was away on business for three weeks shortly thereafter.  My dogs will be 14 years old in about a week.  They were the only two of the litter we were unable to find homes for.  Needless to say, we got Dixie fixed ASAP after that so we didn't have a repeat...  My other cats have been rescued, as well.  Sophia, who I lost 3.5 years ago, was adopted from the pound along with one of her brothers and her mom by my best friend when she was still on undergrad in San Angelo.  I fell in love with her the minute I saw her on one of my visits (post my graduation from the same university).  When I got my first apartment, I took Sophia off her hands (she decided 3 cats were too many for her situation).  My other cat, Sasha (a Russian Blue), was a rescue, as well.  He had been dumped by my boss' landlady's house and when my boss asked if I was interested, I took him.  Unfortunately, I lost Sasha just days before I moved back to Texas in December 2004.  At the moment, I am barred from acquiring any more critters.  There are currently my two dogs and my cat, along with my parents' two dogs.  We're actually down a cat and a dog.  Max passed away a couple of summers ago from old age and Jeri went with my youngest sister when she moved out of the house coming on two years ago this November.  I try to stay away from the animal rescue groups that set up outside the PetsMart/Petco locations whenever I'm out shopping on the weekends...

"Sergeant Buffy the Coyote Slayer"

interesting.  Is that just a moniker, or earned in actual combat?
