Back before Top Soldier and the Old Man decided that I'd never be NCO material, I alternated between being an M113 driver and an M-60 gunner (Hog-Humper).  When they weren't pissed at me, I got to drive.  When I shot my mouth off, I got to hump the Hog. 

I liked the M-60 (well, not the weight, but it was fairly easy to maintain and the firepower was cool), but always thought it would've been easier and cheaper for Uncle Sugar to have just adopted the MG3/MG42.

Politics, I guess.

And I do like an MG, enjoyed shooting them all... but I gotta say I find the functioning of a machine designed to kill large numbers of people in a short period matched with the masterpiece 'An der Schoenen Blauen Donau' somewhat disturbing...
YMMV, depending on where you've been and what you've done....
