Recently At DFW's USO

BRAB and Annabelle, pointed to me this morning to a simple show of gratitude.  A show of gratitude now forgotten by the current occupants of THIS public housing.

The Caption, Published by DFW USO's Facebook page reads:
This morning at DFW Airport, George and Laura Bush greeted 150 (very surprised) troops as they arrived home from Iraq and Afghanistan. Their expressions were so priceless!
No matter how the temporary tenants of The White House think of you, do not forget that we your grateful citizens of this country, are sincerely grateful for all the sacrifices that you undergo on our behalf.

Too bad the Commander-in-Chief can't connect with his troops the way the former CinC does.

Very true, John.  Partisanship is irrelevant in something like this, the CinC NEEDS to have hte confidence of his troops (and vice-versa).

Headline check please.  Where is DWF???

DWF is the dyslexic's DFW, of course.  Dog bless you!

Let me tell you there's nothing worse than a lysdexic 'Rican writing in a foreign language.

DWF.. Dallas Worth Fort
DWF.. Done With Frauds
;-)

I have a friend who spoke to one of the USO volunteers present yesterday, who said it was just amazing.  The Bush's were there to thank a group of students who have been at DFW to welcome home the troops on numerous occasions, and to welcome home these 150 returning troops.  They refused special treatment or placement in line, and went to the end.  When the first Soldier got to them, she was SHOCKED... causing a log jam when everyone realized who was there.  One Soldier snapped to attention and saluted, bringing tears to President Bush's face, and silence to the room.  So damn cool.

Do you remember how Bush reacted to the shootings at Ft. Hood?  He got in his car, drove to the base, and simply asked the guard for directions to the hospital- refusing MP escorts along the way.  He spent hours at the hospital that day, with the wounded and their families.  Obama sent a written note a few days later.. whoo hooo.

We were blessed to have you as our President and First Lady, Mr. and Mrs. Bush!

Bammy was to busy throwing out "shout-outs" to fellow marxists, to pay his respects.

I gotta post a link to the Snopes account about the Bush/Obama/Fort Hood thing

Fairly balanced, that's us!

CLASS,CLASS,CLASS--NOTHING but a class act!

Awww. I especially like the shocked expression on the specialist's face. :D

@Virgil:  "CLASS, CLASS, CLASS -- NOTHING but a class act!" Virgil, I will agree with you, but I don't expect you to agree with me, that's OK. I believe much of that "CLASS' is the result of Post-Presidential growth, but not all of it. I am glad to see it there, with a respectful, "THANK YOU", to both the Former President and his Wife. As John, The Armorer, puts it, "Your mileage may differ", this is my situation. I'm glad to see it and even more glad for the Troops to see them!

On a different note,

@John of Argghhh!  You write, "Fairly balanced, that's us!" Sir, we know what and how to adjust, get you back on balance!

Definately a class act by the former President and First Lady and a day to remember for the Soldiers.

Class with ease and grace. Thank you, sir (and to all of those participating and getting the example of "how it's done" out, too.)

I was able to hear Barbara Bush speak once.  I don't think she put up with too much crap from the Bush boys....

Watching the Rangers game last night, saw Nolan (new owner, thank God! Please spare us Mark Cuban...) sitting there with George W. and Laura.  You'll also often see Barbara keeping a scorebook when she's at the games, too.   Never met them, but I think they're good people.

Just musing, but if there was throw down GW has the military and The One has the Black Panthers.

Anyone else not object to seeing that pan out?

Sign me up as objecting to a civil war, Murray.  Especially a race-based one.

Indeed, no race-based civil war, please.  Personally, I think Obama is an Ayers plant, and Ayers and the Weather Underground had the stated goal of creating a race war in America to destroy it.  Allowing these people to foment racial tensions and a race war would simply hand them their victory.
