Thanks, Dad. And SWWBO's Dad.  You too, LTC Edwards. Bill, Dusty, Sergeant B, 1SG Keith, Heartless Lib, Chuck, CAPT H, Murray, SWWBO, Jim B, Mike, Bennett, JW, Rod, Jim, and the other Jim..   In fact, just about all you guys and gals.  And all of you who read and comment here for whom 11 November is... our day.  Yeah, I know, it's July, but - so what?  The message is what's important.

Thanks, Dad (USA)... and my DH (USN), and sons Jason (USN), Evan (USN) & Noah (USA), sister Paula (USMC), nephew Steven (USAF).

A veteran, whether Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, National Guard, Active or Reserve, male or female is someone who once signed a blank check to the United States payable with their lives.

Thirty-five years later, in my mind, that check is still good.

"First Texas, Remember the Alamo!"

To those who served, ancestors, family, friends, brothers and sisters ...  thank you.

*THANK YOU,* to all who have served, are serving and will serve this *GREAT NATION.* But this thanks also goes to those countless number of people we call, *CAREGIVERS* who put lives back together again, after the Military Member comes home wounded. Those caregivers are a tough breed!

Hey Grumpy - load yourself in the queue too, boyo.

And to those still serving respect and a prayer. The son is on a combat outpost somewhere in the 'Stan, and SSgt Dan Gilyeat  USMC (Ret) is walking 500 miles on one leg in 26 days for an organization called Operation Payback, an organization he established to help disabled vets.

There is a newspaper article about him here http://www.examiner.com/x-52045-Kansas-City-Conservative-Examiner~y2010m7d8-Operation-Payback with links to the Operation Payback page.

He is also running for Congress 3rd District Kansas, not for himself, for veterans.

I only just now got to see this (many links don't work at work...).

Thanx, Dad (WWII), BIL Jerry Calkins (Korea), BIL Robert Dunlap (Vietnam), and all the Moms and Dads, Brothers, Sisters, Wives and Kids out there!

And a big thanx to all those who are serving now!!!

Thanks to you, John.

And:
my husband, whom you already named, and his daughter and son-in-law, who is preparing for his 2nd tour in Iraq, my Dad, brother, two grandfathers, my grandma, several cousins (one currently in AFG), and so many uncles I can't even tell you how many, plus all of those I know but am not related to.  They fought for all of us, and we owe them EVERYTHING.

I had a phone request for a shoulder hoster  that would accomodate a Beretta 92 with a light. I need to get one and ship it to a friend in the 'Stan ASAP. The only purpose for a side arm is to buy time to fight your way to your rifle. When you are in a combat outpost, you sleep a little better (although not heavily) when you know your pistol is strapped to your body.

I need suggestions as to which one to buy, I need it quick

Thanks
Jim B

Thanks to all who have and are serving.

You are always thought of highly.

Hooah!
