This just in! New Commander named for Afghanistan.

Apparently, General Petraeus will report to Mike Yon.

From Yon's Facebook fan page:
Michael Yon The Little Engine that Can

When you see me quit Afghanistan it's time to quit. I ain't quit! We can turn this thing around. We need a paradigm shift. I will work hard on that.
Wow.

The war is in good hands, now.  Good to know the General will have adequate supervision and guidance.

In unrelated news - the Supreme Court tells Chicago to pound sand, the Second Amendment does too apply to them.  Though they left wiggle room, of course.  Look to see Chicago write the DC government and request a copy of their byzantine rulez.

Perhaps Hizzoner will go to DC and shove some SKS up Supreme Butt for being too stupid to see that the people should not be allowed to play with sharp objects and projectile weapons.  Those belong to their betters alone.

I feel so much better with Michael back in charge, and I just want to thank him for getting rid of that horrid McChrystals feller.

You gotta keep an eye on these internet journalists.  They sometimes get a little full of themselves.

I know!   I are one!  Fox said so!

Yon is like the emperor & his new wardrobe... complete with fawning subjects. Someone surely needs to tell him ... oh, right.

Is it my imagination or is there a bit of sarcasm here? By the way,  where's Brutus?

[quickly hides the dagger behind his back]

Brutus?  There's no brutes here!  Just us humorless squishes with no sense of irony.  There's nothing to see here.

Move along.

This is not the snarkitude you were looking for.

You might want to edit out the part about sharp objects.  Just sayin....

I was wondering if someone was going to toss that out there...

Well finally someone is listening to Robert E Lee:

"It appears we have appointed our worst generals to command forces, and our most gifted and brilliant to edit newspapers. In fact, I discovered by reading newspapers that these editor/geniuses plainly saw all my strtegic defects fron the start, yet failed to inform me until it was too late. Accordingly, I am readily willing to yield my command to these obviously superior intellects, and will, in turn, do my best for the Cause by writing editorials - after the fact."

-Robert E. Lee, 1863

Dangit - I wish I'd remembered that one!

Let's make sure it is *not*, [quickly hides dagger *in* his back].

*Sir,* Moving along, we were enlisted, oh now they call it, "humorless squishes with no sense of irony." When one sees too much of this type of "irony", it raises some strange questions. No matter, what you call it. You, being higher in the 'Chain of Command' and so much wiser than us enlisted guys. "The only dumb question is the one you don't ask." Well, we're taking all of those ironic or strange questions and shoving it up the 'Chain of Command.'

Does it still go squish? If so, just maybe we can fix it.

Seriously,  Petraeus is where he should be, without the help of Yon. Petraeus may just be better off, with the Afghan Village Councils, than with the Congress Critters. About Yon, many people see him as  the new "Ernie Pyle", I think he just might have a problem being the new "Gomer Pyle". I agree he should come home without cameras or laptop/desktop, anything with an internet connection. he should go through a complete physical, find out what's cooking between his ears. It just may be time, based on the physical, his behaviors and good objective counseling for him to make the hard choice of change. I mean total change, with consequences.

Question, Tim, which is more important, historical accuracy or being political correct?
