I arrived at BAF just in time for the end of the Monday Commander's Update Brief (CUB). It's customary at the last CUB of the month to honor the fallen of the previous month.
The 31 May CUB happened to coincide not only with Memorial Day, but also with MG Scaparrotti having commanded Regional Command - East (CJTF-82) for a year.
In that year, CJTF-82's roll of heroes counted one hundred twenty-six killed in action, along with one thousand one hundred thirteen Purple Hearts.
We remember them all.
