Toys like this are why I played the game!

Piffle. An M-113 ACAV on steroids.

Judging from the paint scrapes, the driver's gonna need some remedial "How to Unass the Boat" training...

Nonetheless - toys like that are why I played the game!

He's just jealous.....those guys get to go home and have a beer or three when they're done playing in the SoCal sand.
heh

*choke - sputter- gasp*  WHAT?

Chief, that's like saying that the Apache is an upgraded Sea Cobra!

Send him home, folks, his brain, it is ossified...  Must be the dry heat...

Come home, Chief, the beer calls your name...

*hunkering down*

I thought amphib landings were declared dead by Gates?

Well, Gates asked the USMC to consider the need for a robust capability to conduct *opposed* landings.  He never discounted the utitlity of being able to go across the beach.

That was setting the Marines up for the possible cancellation of their M1-sized replacement for the AAVP-7, the one that is supposed to be able to motor in from 25 miles off-shore, the latter to protect the shipping from the ever-proliferating anti-ship missile threat.

[thinks] I am inclined to think that the AAVP is the last century's AAV, and I'm not sure how to address the problems. A hoovercraft (now there's a fuel sucker), or a submarine-tank, or a small, highly armoured Osprey (pilot, gunner, four troops & gear) would seem to be better. Both far more expensive than even the opponent's projections for the AAVP-7.

I wonder how such would do on the soft sands of some beaches further up the coast.

I found this title misleading. But, it is a very cool amphibious... thingy.

You found the title of Marine Pr0n misleading?  At Castle Argghhh!?

Now, if this was the website of the Village People... I'd understand that.
