235 and still kicking in doors and taking down punks. Toss in the occasional rescue and disaster relief for a change of pace. Happy Birthday, US Army! From the Colonial Militias from which we were built... ...to the Continental Line that sprang therefrom...
...to the Regular, Reserve, and National Guard soldiers of today... ...when we were needed, we were there. Hey, it's corny, but it's true.
"When we were needed, we were there,
We were there when we were needed,
We were there;
No, it wasn't always easy,
And it wasn't always fair,
But when freedom called we answered
We were there."

Proud to have been there, done that, and got several t-shirts to prove it.

Sadly, no. I think it would be a good idea, and link us to the past... but the Army is more about linking us to the present. This is what we were getting when I retired.
I'm not a fan of the new Army logo, I'm not a fan of the new pin, either. But hey, they get to make those decisions, and it doesn't affect delivery of the funds to the account!
Happy Birthday, Army!
Yeah, plus you've got that nice, humid, Gulf air down there. It hit 130F on the ramp up here, but no humidity -- with the wind, it felt like living in the exhaust nozzle of a hand dryer in an airport bathroom.
And the wind was off the sewer plant, so I got the full olfactory experience to enhance the illusion.
*No* beer. Bassets.
Oh, on the Armorer's first comment: Change is Bad, Mmmkay? (sorry, that's my inner Aspie speaking)
I'm not qualified to judge on other changes and innovations, but the way all of the services have been making silly changes to uniforms lately, which produce ugliness, silliness, and discomfort and inefficiency, makes me think they shoulda stuck with the old and familiar, at least for the dressiest of them. E.g., Naval officers' Summer Dress Whites and Marine Dress Uniforms. Ask the wimminz which ones they like.
Did y'all know that Pinks and Greens are still worn, but only by the bands of Texas A&M?
I mind something I heard on a Firesign Theatre album, many years ago:
"Yes, living in The Future _is_ like having bees in your head."
