65 years ago today...

Oh, he's not dead yet, but it's a matter of days. Steiner won't save him, thankfully giving us hundreds of "Fuehrerbunker Parody Videos" courtesy the movie Downfall and YouTube - a most appropriate epitaph for the monster.  The Red Army, driving over the bones of millions of their own, East European, and German dead, reach the Elbe, where they meet elements of the US Army headed east, most famously at Torgau.elbe.jpg
Red Army Lieutenant Colonel Alexander T. Gardiev's troops ofthe 175th Rifle Regiment of the 58th Guards Division met a 35-man patrol of the 3rd Battalion, 273rd Infantry, 69th Infantry Division commanded by 1st Lieutenant Albert L. Kotzebue. The death of the 3rd Reich was a given.  Now if only the Germans would get the message, the killing could stop.
