I've had people tell me that this point of view is simplistic, but I still secretly believe that we are the good guys. It's just a mindset. This past week we had some EPW training. The SFC running it said, "You will not abuse your prisoners! Only [crappy] third world countries get to commit war crimes! Not the greatest army on Earth!"

I love that first picture. :)

it also shows the need for gun camouflage. those m4's stick out!!

PS: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa sweet

The Army has given the troops permission to do so, and is developing the "how to" data for them.  Still a local command call on actually doing it.

 Greetings:

If I may be so bold as to inflict some of my experience in the printing industry, there's just way to much letterspace in "HONOR". Type set in "all caps" benefits from additional letterspace, but there are limits.  My fundamental guideline for type is legibility; it should be easily read.  A bolder or expanded typeface might work somewhat better.

The sentiment, though, is excellent.

Ref Rifle cammy:

The Army has given the troops permission to do so.

About half the 1st Cav troops here last year carried factory-cammied M-4s -- muted browns, tans, and greys, like the "tree bark" cammo popular with bowhunters. It was a very thin Teflon® that adhered well enough to the receiver group and the handgrips, but I saw lots of barrels and stocks with scratches and scrapes.

BTW, the PX/BX here sells rolls of digi-cammy tape, for those folks who just *have* to have that sort of stuff (I don't, and I don't)....

Love it.  And soooo true.

we colud all use some honor in our daly lives

the good guys don't use human shields?=crap

Um, Gary, care to actually *support* that assertion, vice just toss it out and run like a drive-by poo flinging?

Care to name an instance in which the good guys used civilians for cover in an engagement, gary?

No rush. I figger it'll take you a while to find one.

A loooooong while...

An hour and forty-eight minutes to refresh.

A new record, even for *our* server...

Actually poo flinging may be primative but it is very effective.

I'd send you packets via carrier pigeon Bill, but the Wahhabi would shoot them down and claim they took out a US spy drone.

Gee, thanks, Aaron, but we've already got plenty of pigeons over here.

The Iraqi kay-dets call them "rock doves" when they're roosting and "$#@!ing #%!#*s" when they circle the ramp during the afternoon flight recovery...

That's what we have in Seattle. Everyone calls them pigeons, but they are actually feral rock doves.
