I know I'm late to the party...

...because unlike some in our little milblogging community, I don't live on my email and twitter accounts at night.  SWWBO gets somewhat pissy if I do.

So, I missed this.

McManus, our faux Brigadier in Houston, was busted for Stolen Valor

Yeah, we had a hand in this.  Not so much this place in particular, but rather as in Milblogs in general, working in concert with POW.net and others.

Hang him high!
Hope it was a slick move by the FBI to bust him late Friday and not have him before the judge until Monday.

SA-WEEEEEEEEEEEET!

Dude is going DOWN.
congrats to all of the milbloggers involved, and for the FBI's follow-through!

Oh wow they found him :D I almost forgot about this guy!

-Forgetful Lt-

Hah! Justice!

And he did not "look like a soldier" (quoting the article). He looked like an idiot.

Justice delayed is justice denied.  Arraignment Monday, trial Tuesday, sentence Wednesay, jail Thursday.

I am soooo loving this one!

Death by Bonga.

He'll get off light.  He's got a ready-made defense: his 'medals' were such an insanely stupid mishmash that it's clear he didn't intend to be taken seriously.  And to be honest, he's clearly such a loser that throwing him in jail for five or ten years seems like a waste of good jail space.  Put him in the stocks for a day or two.  Better yet, just put him through boot camp.

The one that really ticked me off is this guy, arrested in California last November.   No joke here, no prank, no loser trying to put down the military he couldn't qualify for.  This jackass genuinely tried to pass himself off as something he was not, and in the process insulted everyone who has ever been a Marine, or won any of the medals he falsely claimed.   It's schmucks like Burton who really deserve your creative punishments, not pathetic losers like McManus.

What's even more hilarious than McManus finally getting his comeuppance, is that he answered the door wearing a CIA ballcap with a General's Star on it.

When he gets into the slammer, this wannbe soldier is gonna learn a new meaning to what a "Butt Pack" is.

@AW1  Tim, "Butt Pack", are you suggesting he needs a work out?

@All, I figure the place they should really send him to is  "Corrective Custody". As I read his paperwork,  there is a fine of $250,00.00 + 1 year in Prison in total. Now if I had my  preference, it  would be  a fine of $250,000.00 + 1 year in "corrective custody", per medal, to be served consecutively. I won't get my hopes up for this type of conclusion.

Whomever are you referring to? :)There's no one in the Denizens who twitter and E-mail all night long....never!

@wolf: Yup, my comment when his pic showed here was mostly about how silly he looked. Had he taken acting lessons and costume advice, he might have been much more annoying and actually fooled some people, like that Burton guy.

@AW1: Oh, c'mon now! Let's not joke about forcible prison buttsecks, nor wish it on anybody.

Since he was "honoring" the new gay Mayor of Houston by showing up in his purloined fancies, do you suppose Hizzonher will expend any political capital springing to the schmuck's defense?
