Another Whatziss - this one for the President.

Dear sir - since I'm guessing you would probably have an epic fail on a military whatziss, and, frankly, you damn well better be too busy to be hanging out here killing time,I thought I'd help you with a verbal construct that seems to be causing you some trouble.

This is a corpseman.

This is a corpsman.

Corpsmen try to *prevent* people from becoming corpsemen.

Just trying to help, sir.

I'm not going to bash anyone for mispronouncing an unfamiliar term - all of us have done it at one time or another, especially if trying to speak a foreign language or just discussing areas in which we have little experience or expertise. Since I've al... Read More

There is no hope.

He said it twice in the clip...the man has no clue. Well, the typist could have made the mistake and he compounded it by not knowing what he was talking about. Is that redundant?

He said it THREE times, Fishmugger.  Even worse!

He also misprounonced the Creole version of the United States. Amazing... he's a bilingual illiterate. I guess the teleprompter doesn't roll phonetics along with the test of the speech.

OMG...how'd I miss that third one...I must pay more attention to his speeches. (with tongue firmly in cheek)

I would just like to point out that I've had the same conversation (This is a "corpseman... this is a corpsman" when my boys and the next door neighbor started playing with little GI Joe guys called "US Corpsmen".  I still catch the neighbor calling them "corpsemen" from time to time.

Of course... they are all about TEN YEARS OLD... not even close to our "adult" President's age.

The mind boggles - totally.   The is nobody in the entourage that has any military experience, I suppose - not even JROTC?   Of course not.

Of course not, threadbndr, you know the mentality of those type of people:  The U.S. Armed Forces is THE source of evil in the world.

Except of course, when they need them to save their own bacon.

He probably got that pronunciation from his mother.  And, no, it wasn't a mistake on her part.  She was of a that part of a generation that meant the insult.

I was just talking about the CIC to a young Marine I know.  He's a "dark green Marine" and says that he did vote for Obama and is now 'regretting' that choice.  "I should have voted as a Marine, not as a black man."

He sounded so torn, so absolutely gutted by that realization, that I wanted to just hug the stuffing out of him.   Of course I've been know to hug random young recruits and cadets just because.   LOL.

I'd bet he knows how to say 'Peace Corps', 'Mercy Corps', and 'Green Corps' correctly.
And I'm not a bettin' persyn.

The[re] is nobody in the entourage that has any military experience, I suppose - not even JROTC? Of course not.

Wouldn't matter, no point in asking others when you already know everything.

When his military advisors are one-term former O-3s and political Generals, what did you expect?

Guess he'll also need that conversation about the difference between sh*t and Shinola.

If it would've been Dan Quayle or G.W. Bush, the criminal-liberal-news-media would've been all over it and we'd be listening to it 24/7 for weeks.

This guy is supposed to be a Harvard-educated lawyer (Constitutional scholar, no less), a former Senator, suposedly The Smartest Man in the World, and he doesn't know how to pronounce "corpsman"? Good grief. And to think that we have three more years to go......

Well, if you're a Korpsbruder of the Prez, you don't think much of those _other_ fraternities.
