wow, what a moronic story. if a state prints way more money than there are national goods or services it will create hyperinflation and blow up the economy. the Weimar republic found that out and so did/does Zimbabwe. gold in it self is nothing. you can use salt (and that was used through the ages) as a currency, or gold, or whatever. bottom line is, does the recipient of the currency trusts whats underneath it. please, i like the US exporting it's antique rifles, but keep the export of conspiracy theories limited.

I wondered if this one would draw you out, Eric.  Hey, lately at least, haven't you just been re-importing euro rifles?

It ain't a conspiracy if people really ARE conspiring to rule you.

A man with a rifle is a citizen. A man without one is a subject.

Guess I know which one Eric is, eh?

"Hey, lately at least, haven't you just been *re-importing euro rifles?*" Now, that's very interesting, hmmmm.

Trust is the key, and historically, that trust has always been based on something *tangible*. 'Nother words, the gummint would *give* you something in return for the currency you held.

It wasn't so long ago that the currency *was* the "something tangible." During my boyhood, the coinage was silver and the paper currency stated "will pay to the bearer on demand in silver" the sum represented on the bill's denomination.

What the gummint promises *now* is the promise that the currency is worth -- a promise.

I've been around long enough to know the *exact* value of a gummint promise...

Tim,
Eric didn't say anything about "trying to rule us", only that moving away from the gold standard was not a conspiracy.  And it isn't.  The gold standard really is a bad idea.

uhmmm Tim, does 22 rifles count, or am i still a subject?

Well, here, all that counts is as a good start, Eric.  I mean, c'mon!

;^ )

Eric -- if you have a weapon, you can get anoher weapon.  Use the enemy as your S4.

Hell, hang with some Department of Homeland Security types.  They loose pistols, rifles, and shotguns on a regular basis.  Big Sis can provide firearms for us, if necessary.

Or Big Bro, given how many of you have made reservations for when the Zombies come...

your auction houses also loose (i guess the current euro-dollar exchange rate shows that my gummint is a better fraud than yours) a lot of rifles to me, but thanks for the tip Maj Mike. hey John of Argghhh, quit being mean!!

I'd say you're the subject of a post on how to start (and keep) a collection of firearms while remaining in compliance with overly-wussified regulations.
