Notes from Afghanistan

Heartless Lib sends - given his note, I thought this poster appropriate, since HL brought it up himself.
Barb's package arrived today, though I haven't had time to open it. (I swung by the mail room on the way to see ADM Mullen (CJCS coin - score!) and his holiday USO troupe (Anna Kournikova - schwing!) and then straight to work.

In light of yesterday's Michael Yon article on ARV, if the Castle would like to adopt a unit, I might have a candidate. One of my fellow team chiefs from my AC/RC assignment commands a Stryker company in the Argandab. He and his guys are deep in the shite (That battalion has taken more KIAs than any other US unit since they arrived in theater) while I'm fat, dumb, and happy somewhere where the biggest gripe is that we don't have net access in the billets so we can use Skype.

Let me know - I don't know his mail address, but I've got a couple of different avenues I can try to find it.
Anyone interested in a mission?

I was going to try to get my Legion Post to adopt a soldier after the holidays.  Suppose we could do for a unit instead?

I'm sure you could!

They sound like they need some luvin'.  Get the addy, we'll be sure they get mail and packages!

I have adopted a soldier from 5/2.  In a recent letter he said he was headed to help out that unit.  My understanding is they're in some pretty rough living conditions.  He was thrilled when (besides that month's care package )I sent him a "bonus" envelope with a few handwarmers a couple months ago.

Yes, I now include tons of handwarmers for him, haha.

Americans bring Burger King, Canadians bring Tim Hortons.
