Well, we are ruriously busy making the rope that we will hang from. The jihadis must be pretty frustrated just watching us self destruct.
Maybe they are angling for an opportunity for The Won to chastise TSA/FBI/DHS about profiling. That would be a high-probability outcome for them.

Carry everywhere you can (legally). If a situation seems odd or strange or threatening, don't just ignore it. At least get your own butt out of there, and try to get someone in charge to take some action. (Share your concerns with the flight crew- they may have a similar sense of unease and your information may be enough to trigger action.)
Islamist extremists hate us all and want to kill us all. No exceptions, no excuses. And, they feel a religious duty to lie to infidels, so dont count on the cops or courts getting the truth out of them about what is going on.
We are at war. At least some of us are. The jihadis certainly are, even if we don't want to play their silly game.
We will be attacked again. It maybe another airborne attack. It may be a shopping center, or a school, or mass transit, or a church, or even another military base.

The toothless UN, the corrupt Justice Department, the muzzled FBI, the CIA and SPECOPS guys being under assault from our own government all contribute to our heightened vulnerability. Under Obama it is getting more dangerous, not safer. We are on our own.
