Project Valour-IT

We're in the home stretch, and barring a miracle, Team Marines is simply going to kick our butts down the pike.

Sigh.

Of course, *no one* is close to reaching their goals except the Marines.  A little disapppointing, given past fund-raisers, but it's been a tough year for a lot of folks, and I know there are a lot of organizations out asking for money.

So, time for a little examination of strategy...   Given that this is the state of play...

...and that today is the 234th Birthday of the Corps...  I say if you haven't donated yet, or you have but have got some cash still burning a hole in your wallet -toss it to the Marines as a birthday present and as a push to get at least *one* service to meet  the goal!

And getting to $100K overall would be nice, too.

Something to consider boys and girls - the greatest casualty producer in the war is the IED. If President Obama gives General McChrystal more troops, there are going to be more personnel in theater.

Which means, just like after the Surge in Iraq, casualties are going to  spike.

Which means more wounded warriors with the kinds of wounds that Project Valour-IT is designed to help.

How 'bout sacrificing a little green for those who are making the red sacrifice?

And speaking of Marines .... Happy 234th Birthday Marines.

Any organization born in a bar has got to be destined for glory. Scoresby all round bar keep!

We had a major leg up what with Cassandra as our Team Leader. Thanks for the Interservice Love.....we all know it doesn't matter a bit where the money is allocated, a wounded Warrior in the Uniform of the United States gets the stuff.

Yanno, every time I think I have you Army types pegged, you go and do something that just makes my jaw drop :)

In the Marines, we hear a lot about the Navy-Marine Corps team, and rightly so. We would get nowhere without the Navy, and the Navy's big guns have made innumerable amphibious landings more survivable for those who wear Marine green.

But it's equally true that the Marines can always depend on their big Bro - the Army.  The truth is that none of us would get very far in life without the support of our friends. The Marine team has been blessed in people like Carrie, who was an integral part of our success in 2006, and the rest of the Marine team members (about whom I just can't say enough good things).

You're right about the coming year. I worry a lot about the number of wounded.

I am worrying a bit less, seeing that America has the situation well in hand.

In previous years I have donated to the Marine team, but this year I wnet Navy. I figured that would be kind of doing double duty, as I know the lineage of the Navy team leader. Even so, A worthy cause will be helped. Thank you all who donated.

You're a good man.

Thank you.

What Carrie and Cass said. Thanks, John.
