This afternoon, one of our Denizennes was bemoaning the fact that the White House has put Fox News Channel on the Dog House.  I gently reminded her that what is going on in the isolation that Cable Channel is straight out of Saul Alinsky's textbook Rules For Radicals.
Rule 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy.
The White House has picked Fox as a TARGET, FROZEN it, PERSONALIZE it and is in the process of POLARIZING it away from the American Public.

If anything, this stunt has driven more viewers to FOX and has even had other news folks raising questions.

I think freedom of speech will prevail, but it will be a fight.

This is a dogfight the White House won't win -- unfortunately, we'll be the biggest losers.

"You are fearful of reporters on the Fox Network -- I throw reporters into *prison*. Tell me why I should speak with you except for the amusement value it will provide to me."

Are there still other networks besides Fox?  I would not know as I have not watched anything but FOX for years now.

The White House fails to realize that Joe & Joan Sixpack can see right through this censorship attempt. Joe & Joan see a tinhorn despot in a tinpot, wannabe socialist party trying to silence his main opposition. Joe & Joan will wait this chump out, but the seed is planted in the back of thir minds: they might have to pull him down from his pedestal.
