That sentiment was a fairly common wall locker decoratiion in Vietnam, but it was usually worded, "Yea, though I should walk through the Valley of Death, I shall fear no evil, for I am the evilest SOB in the Valley."

Sanger, now that I think about it, there's another Patton quote (albeit incertainly attributed and found in many forms) that seems uniquely appropriate for this song:

When I was in the 1st Cav on Hood, we used to go down to the 2nd AD Museum on Ft. Hood sometimes, just to listen to the beginning speech of the movie, which was played every weekend there (maybe every day).... Always good for a little surge of ready-for-the-field.

Man, that just made my whole week!

(I've already listened to it about 8 times.... time for no 9).

The firefighting scene brings back memories...Tan Son Nhut Air Base, Saigon, Vietnam...the Air Force used to drag crashed aircraft over near our compound, on the backside of TSN. They would soak the wreckage in (JP4?), light it off, and then go after it...the fire. Made for a heckuva show off the back deck of our NCO/EM Club!
