Photo of the Day

Rummaging through the backroads of this information superhighway, I stumbled upon this picture of an Italian 2LT.  The caption for this Bersagliero reads:

NATO led peacekeepers in Kosovo (KFOR) attend a KFOR change of command ceremony in Pristina on September 8 , 2009. The KFOR command was handed over today at NATO forces from the outgoing Italy Commander Guisepe Emilio Gay to the German commander Markus Bentler. NATO has deployed its peacekeepers in Kosovo after its 1999 air campaign that ousted Serbian forces waging a crackdown on the pro-indepedence ethnic Albanian majority. Is this to make airmen feel guilty for compaining about their new uniforms?

OK...I feel bad complaining about the new USAF ABUs...could be worse...could be dressed like this fine Italian troopie.  Love the feathers.  Does it come with matching boa?

Armorer, I need your wise counsel. We have both agreed that words matter. Are we talking about jealousy or envy? <SNARK WARNING!>

Ok troops, all together now.

I love the beret, I love the beret...

Somewhere in Italy, there is a flock of featherless crows clucking around.

And we thought berets were rough...but the hat is wicked kewl.

"Commander Guisepe Emilio Gay", eh?  Doubtless a pure coincidence.

Somebody get the bird off that man's head!!

Photo begging for a caption:
