Today it was this photo of Japanese tanks training in the US at Yakima Training Center, in Washington state.I remember when I was at 5th Army down at Fort Sam Houston during the Clinton administration, reading the fevered musings of the fringe. The loons on the Right would be babbling incoherently on the 'net about "divisions of Chinese troops" hiding in the woods at Fort Lewis, waiting for Clinton to call on them to disarm us and establish the Clinton dictatorship.Heh. Now we're going to be lighting up the Empire State Building in red and yellow... to celebrate the Chinese Communist Revolution. ...

The Canadian army used to train in Yakima (YFC) regularly. One day will crossing the border driving my Deuce & half pulling a 105mm howitzer in uniform with a bunch of other guys in the back also in uniform. The border guard said: “Purpose of visit”

I take a moment, look him in the eye and said: “Invasion”

Needless to say much poop was raised, but his supervisor quickly realized a stupid question was worthy of a snarky answer and off we trundled to leak oil onto your highways, clog traffic and shot the snot out of your impact areas. We used to give the MP and range officers cakes and pies from our mess, which kept them happy with us, despite our blatantly “borrowing” of spare parts from any unit foolish enough not to post a guard.

We had a good time down there and I enjoyed working with you Yanks and the Brits, I kind of miss the place.
Wonder if they figured out how to get the autoloader to get out and help replace a thrown track, pull OP, fetch chow or be "volunteered" for KP/CQ/Firewatch when stuck in rear areas.
