Last week we had some light fun with Mr. Bouncy Castle Soldier Man. Behind it, however, is a drop-dead serious effort in pacifying the Colombian countryside. You see, THAT picture was taken this May 19th at the small mountain town called Unión Peneya – A town in the Province of Caquetá, which has been until recently under a decade long control by The FARC Guerrillas.
This will make MSG Keith’s heart sing…
Now The Colombian Government has retaken full possession of this community and its surroundings, and it’s bringing to bear all of its national resources to its long forgotten citizens. The Social Welfare Ministry has set-up shop and is enrolling the community for services. The President’s Coordinating Agency for Rural Development “Acción Social” was there, and so was The Ministry of Agriculture’s Institute for Agricultural Development.
All of this was made possible by a Community Affairs Unit of The Colombian Army’s 6th Infantry Division, who along with providing security and stability, brought along a Dental and Medical Clinics, Barber Shop, Military Band, Sports and Recreation for the Kids.
And let’s not forget about the central role of Señor Big Marshmallow Soldier Man. After ten years of Communist brainwashing on their children, Private Big Marshmallow we hope will make help bring trust and confidence upon the soldiers serving their community.
