We're Screwed...

I fly and John has guns (lots, even though many of 'em no longer work).

So, when I read this, I thought both, "Yep," and "Uh oh." at the same time.

Then there's this blog and, if they find out we both ascribe to a spiritual path of some kind, bam--we're potential terrorists.

...and I look terrible in an orange jumpsuit.

Dusty,

Interesting insight , let's see, if you have any brains, initiative with appropriately sized and located brass. Preferably, they should be located *below the waist" and *BIG*! Now, how many of the readers fit this description? Note: This only refers to the males, remember in some situations, the female of the species is far worse than the male. Please be advised.

You use the phrase, "we're potential terrorists." But in that phrase, the operative word is "potential". The healthcare community have a different term for that logic, they simply call it, Paranoia.

My final conclusion,
"We're Screwed!"

Sir, I concur with your final conclusion.  Dang, this is happening at an awkward time in my life:  I'll be sixty soon, I've never had any infantry training, and I don't even own a rifle of an "electoral" caliber!  I'm too old to be a Threeper!

I mean, it's even too late for my preferred method of resisting the tyrannical State, that is, sitting on my BarcaLounger with deadman switch under my butt connected to a coupla tons of Torpex in the basement, and telling them "Hi, guys, c'mon in and have a beer!" when they come for me.
Ordinary folks can no longer buy high explosives without attracting undue attention.

All of the above is just the imaginings of a grumpy old guy who remembers when this was a somewhat free country and wishes that it were still so.  Of course, I do not intend to violate any laws, be they Federal, State, or local ordinances, but I am right grumpy.

Grow a beard (John's got the jump on you, there), wear an Obie sweatshirt with an ACORN pin and carry a Koran.

They'll fall all over themselves getting out of your way.

Now THERE'S a plan...

Can't do the beard (FAA regs for the quick-don mask and all that), but the sweatshirt, pin and K-book I can do. Better yet, I'll make it a Che sweat.

It always begins with "Reasonable Restrictions", and as those restrictions fail, then more are added, always a "Reasonable" restriction added, you know...

until you get to the point where you have to present your papers to show you have a right to walk down the street, your lights go out at the specified time, you only are ever offered what has been approved, at what price was approved, in whatever quantity could be coerced from the provider/producer.  You're told you're "Free" but you are, in the end, a slave, of "Reasonable Restrictions."

And by the time enough people notice that they might have been able to stop it, it's done, usually to the drooling applause of the majority, because the truth is, as the guy in Fight Club said,  "A Person is smart, PEOPLE are stupid."

For the record, *most* of them work, as in upwards of 90%, including a mortar.

Cut me some slack, flyboy.

Oh, and me in an orange jumpsuit? Well, the vast expanse of bright orange would cause flash blindness in bystanders... that's probably a Geneva violation.

this is really scary.  Coming from my birth country, the restriction of one's mobility is the sure way to totally control the populace...
Also, I am well familiar with the "control exit" rule - it took me 6 months to get permission to leave Russia after the American gov't decided to let me in... plus, very tense 4 hours at the passport and customs EXIT control at the St. Petersburg's international airport...
The big difference between our country and the rest of the free world is our incredible mobility - by car or by private plane in addition to the common bus, train and commercial airliner.
Couple that with the 2A and it is really hard for the gov't to achieve the desired total control... not yet, at least...

For nine years, I lived only 100 yards from the College Park Airport (KCGS) - Supposedly the oldest airfield in continous use in the world.  My house was just 75 yards to the left of the upper quadrant ot THIS picture.

Being only 7 Nautical Miles from the White House, it was immediately put under severe restrictions, after the atrocities of September 11th.  All air traffic in and out of that airport has to be thoroughly vetted and cleared by the Baltimore FDSO.

I guess that after eight years of trying-out this program at College Park, without anyone objecting, it was now time to roll it out nationwide.

CALL YOUR CONGRESSMAN AN EXPRESS YOUR FEELINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Subject: Subject: FW: HR 45 Blair Hold Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of2009 Ask England, Australia and some other countries. This is the start of registration and confiscation. England is having marches with signs saying "We want our guns back". Crime has gone up tremendously and for the first time "Bobbies" are now carrying guns. GET THIS OUT TO ALL YOUR MAIL LISTS!! YOU THOUGHT IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN HERE! WELL, HERE IT COMES!!!! HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009 Please send this to everybody on your list... this is Obama gun control by secrecy. It is very important for you to be aware of a new bill HR 45 introduced into the House. This is the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of 2009. We just learned yesterday about this on the Peter Boyles radio program. Even gun shop owners didn't know about this because it is flying under the radar. To find out about this - go to any government website and type in HR 45 or Google HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009. You will get all the information. Basically this "little" piece of legislation would make it illegal to own a firearm - any rifle with a clip or ANY pistol unless: ...It is registered .You are fingerprinted ..You supply a current Driver's License ...You supply your Social Security # ..You will submit to a physical & mental evaluation at any time of their choosing .Each update - change or ownership through private or public sale must be reported and costs $25 (This does not apply to convicted felons, since they will not register their guns) - Failure to do so you automatically lose the right to own a firearm and are subject up to a year in jail. There is a child provision clause on page 16 section 305 stating a child-access provision. Guns must be locked and inaccessible to any child under 18. The Government would have the right to come and inspect that you are storing your gun safely away from accessibility to children and fine is punishable for up to 5 years in prison. If you think this is a joke - go to the website and take your pick of many options to read this... http://www.opencong/ ress.org/bill/111- h45/text it is long and lengthy. But, more and more people are becoming aware of this. Pass the word along. FAILURE TO DO SO AT YOUR PERIL! Any hunters in your family - pass this along. Peter Boyles is on this and having guests. Listen to him on KHOW 630 a.m. in the morning. He suggests the best way to fight this is to tell all your friends about it and "spring into action". Also he suggests we all join a pro-gun group like the Colorado Rifle Association, hunting associations, gun clubs JPFO (JEWS FOR THE PRESERVATION OF FIREARMS OWNERSHIP) and especially the GOA and National Rifle Association. This is just a "termite" approach to complete confiscation of guns and disarming of our society to the point we have no defense - chip away a little here and there until the goal is accomplished before anyone realizes it. YOU MAY NOT OWN OR EVEN LIKE GUNS, but if you LOVE FREEDOM, YOU better get involved NOW!!! TOMORROW YOU MAY NOT HAVE AN OPTION.
