Private Quinton Ezeagwula update.

By Donna Miles American Forces Press Service WASHINGTON, June 9, 2009 - A soldier wounded last week during an attack at a recruiting office in Little Rock, Ark., that claimed a fellow soldier's life expressed no bitterness today at his attacker, and said the incident has done nothing to dampen his desire to serve in the Army. Army Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula, 18, spoke publicly about the incident for the first time since he was gunned down outside an Army recruiting office June 1. He is recovering from gunshot wounds to his neck, back and buttocks. Army Pvt. William Long, 23,...

J(NTA) - I wouldn't be too harsh on Donna Miles, she's a government employee, so one would not expect her to have produced a hit piece on the President, regardless of what her personal feelings may or may not be (and I have no idea what her personal feelings are).

The rules for the Purple Heart were re-written to include terrorism, so that people like Robert Stethem and the soldier's injured in the Berlin disco bombing would be covered.

I suspect that it will depend on how the government chooses to pursue the criminal aspect. Certainly, by the statements of the accused, it would appear Purple Hearts would be in order. But I can see gov't lawyers agonizing over whether or not that would allow the accused to claim status as a combatant, and complicate the court proceeding.

Interesting question.
Anyone know the status of Purple Heart awards for PVT Long and PVT Ezeagwula?

PVT Ezeagwula is a fine soldier and I wish him a long and successful career defending our country.

It was very charitable of the reporter to cleverly note that "shortly after the incident" President Obama "released a statement" instead of bluntly reporting the fact that the Commander in Chief has uttered not a word, and his press flack waited for THREE DAYS before releasing a patheticly weak understatement. This would have been disgraceful enough, but is a most shameful display of disrespect when contrasted with Obama's high profile public outrage over the killing of "Tiller the Baby Killer" and ordering Justice Department assets into action to protect potential abortion mill targets.

Our troops deserve better!

Pvt. Ezeagwula is a better man than I. Especially in light of the recent statement made by Abdulhakim Muhammad in which he said:

"I do feel I'm not guilty, I don't think it was murder, because murder is when a person kills another person without justified reason. Yes, I did tell the police upon my arrest that this was an act of retaliation, and not a reaction on the soldiers personally," Mr. Muhammad said. He called it "a act, for the sake of God, for the sake of Allah, the lord of all the world, and also a retaliation on U.S. military."

If this statement is true then Abdulhakim committed an act of war in this country and under the Geneva Conventions he can be executed as a saboteur. This is now no longer a law enforcement issue as Abdulhakim states, it was not murder, it was an act of war, and the military should take him into custody and either hold him as a prisoner of war until the end of the war or execute him as is their right under the Geneva Conventions.

And why did he take this route, because: Mr. Muhammad, 23, said he wanted revenge for claims that American military personnel had desecrated copies of the Koran and killed or raped Muslims. "For this reason, no Muslim, male or female, sane or insane, little, big, small, old can accept or tolerate," he said.

Thank you Newsweek for inciting violence over an act that never happened!
