I miss living in The D.C. Metro Area;
Cherry Blossoms in April,
Crabs in Summer, and
Charles battling it out every Sunday morning. To me, yelling at
Nina over the tube was a weekly tradition. As The
Blog Princess can attest, it's VERY therapeutic, in deed.
THIS WEEK, thanks to stream-link, Nina didn't dissapoint me; and neither did Charles.
The lion's share of this week's episode was dedicated to Mil-Blog friendly topics. Of note was the opening scene where gobs of adoring U.S. Soldiers received our President in Baghdad. When I first saw it, I couldn't help but notice the stark contrast as far as the reception our President received last week in Baghdad, and the previous reception he received in
Camp Lejeune. How come the Marines were so cold, while the
Soldiers were so enthusiastic? Well, it seems that the administration learns quick, and
STAGED the whole Baghdad event.

*A term of art from the artillery. Harassment and Interdiction Fires. Back in the day, when you could just kill people and break things without a note from a lawyer, they were pre-planned, but to the enemy, random, fires at known gathering points, road junctions, Main Supply Routes, assembly areas, etc - to keep the bad guy nervous that the world around him might start exploding at any minute. Not really relevant to today's operating environment, right? But, it *is. The UAVs we fly over Afghanistan and Pakistan looking for targets of opportunity are a form of H&I fires, if you really want to parse it finely. We just have better sensors and fire control now. Of course, now I have to call them UAS's, because someone got a Legion of Merit for the name change.Anyway, I call the post H&I Fires because it's random things posted by me and people I've given posting privileges to that particular topic. Another term of art that might be appropriate is Free Fire Zone.
how completely, utterly, embarrassing. At least the truth is coming out. Thanks Boq, and thanks Aces!!
Doncha just hating getting crabs in the summer?
And I'd like to see a show of hands by anyone who is surprised by this little game of staging the adoring fans? Anyone? Anyone? Beuller? Yeah, me neither.
Remember during the campaign when his staff arranged a free concert in California by a popular west coast band, with a surprise visit? Well, there were thousands of screaming kids there to see the band, and who walks out but the Obamanator.. surprise! The MSM played it up as thousands of adoring fans welcoming Obama, but they didn't know he was going to be there. they were there for the party, not him, but you wouldn't have known that if a local radio station hadn't broken the real story.
Hey Jim,
Only the po' folk get crabs. The rich get lobstahs..... heh.. Maine joke.
