    <title>ANA Commandos engage in firefight in Herat</title>
    <summary><![CDATA[I got these pics from Afstan today and thought I would throw them up there to give yet another sense of what some of&nbsp;&nbsp;the country is like that is being fought over, and how the villages are like small fortresses scattered across the country side - and it's hard to see in them to assess threats.

One thing that struck me is that... how would we feel if that kind of stuff were happening here?&nbsp; I can relate to the guys on the side of the road by the truck, trying to stay very very small.]]></summary>

</strong></em>In a perfect world, we could avoid all wars, period. Unfortunately, we don't live in that perfect world.<br />

The best option open to us is&nbsp;to maintain the capability and will to fight these wars on <em><strong>their</strong></em> soil and in <em><strong>their</strong></em> streets .... not ours.]]>
