Greenery that's not beige and flowers and flutterbys -- these were the only two of ten that posed long enough for the pic.
Also in the "Arrivals" column, two more 'Structor Pilots and another Academics guy, who's already going crosseyed following me around, because we've also been conducting a full-fledged Huey II Qualification Course

[Hi-Rez for the grognards here]
for four Mi-17 pilots. In my spare time, I rewrote two of the core navigation courses and put the final polish on the MoD-approved version of Mr. Bill's Inadvertent IMC Crashproofing and Recovery Course.
Which allows me to segue into another "Arrival" --

-- another grad of last year's crashproof course who punched into a sandstorm and remembered what I taught him. He figured that as long as he was in the neighborhood -- 80 miles north -- he'd stop in to say shukran to the old sunken-chested, pencil-necked wizened gnome.
*waving hiya to Grampaw Armorer*
Aaaaaand, although not *technically* "Arrivals," there are three brand-new helicopter pilots in the Iraqi Air Force. Three of the students soloed last week, and we figure the rest will be ready for the wetdown sometime this week.
Now, for the "Departure." Warrior Princess, whom you first met on these pages last year, finished her tour! You've all been clamoring to see what she looks like, soooooo

No, *not* the one in the blue uniform.
I didn't post her pic before because of The Nature of Her Job -- she though it was highly discriminatory of the dirtbags to put a lesser price on her head than on ours, just 'cuz she's a gurl. In fact, the only reason her pic's here *now* is because of the final item in the title.
She e-mailed me that she "Arrived" home!
And, since I *am* a Gentleman, I'll refrain from mentioning what she's got planned when her husband gets to the airport.
No, Brab, it's *not* EF...

UPDATE: In response to John's
Hey, it was a windy day, and even a size X-Midget shirt fits her like a GP Large...
(I know - she'll be around to read that in a week or two)
Welcome home Warrior Princess.
Our winter/summer cycle is the same green/dirt. At least we don't get sandstorms too often.
So, the average age of our readership is that of a retirement home.
Izzat why we have a high-res pic of a helo, and not the Warrior Princess, or izzat *because* we have a high-res pic of a helo, and not the Warrior Princess...?
Lots of 'em to go around today, Bill.
Welcome Home, Warrior Princess!!
You are a lucky man to have the results of your hard work show up on your doorstep and thank you for teaching them to survive...
BTW, your mustache is better :o)
Warrior Princess,
Welcome home!
Ummmm -- looks like I'll need to put the decision to shave the 'stache come warmer weather up for a vote...
Oddly enough, I saw about half a dozen of them today. They seemed out of place, as if they were a long way from home...
There are a few Mi-17 operators around, mostly flying Polish-built aircraft -- those engines *don't* have to be thrown away at 300 hours.
