I don't know where I first read/heard it, but there's a saying that goes something like, "Be careful what you task a motivated Soldier/Sailor/Airman/Marine with because he'll do whatever it takes to make it happen." A similar caution could probably be applied to Angels: "I'm running low on God Pops," he said.
This next story is more about Iraqis and American Soldiers than it is about Angels, but the Angels made it happen. So, what does happen when you combine deployed Louisiana National Guard soldiers, their Iraqi counterparts, and boxes and boxes of party fixin's?
An international Mardi Gras, of course!
And finally, Soldiers' Angels has been helping out the wonderful and award-winning documentary Brothers at War, the result of a civilian brother following his two military brothers into war and the return home. The first public screening was last night, and screenings will continue across the country over the next two weekends. Laughing Wolf was there last night, and has some reports from viewers. This one is truly a don't miss.
On the same topic, Army Wife (and Angel) Greta Perry had a chance to interview Director Jake Rademacher. Check it out! If you're not close enough to a screening, you can still spread the word to those who are--if they can get enough people attending, they can go national with this, and it's a film every American should see.
As I said at B5, at 1320 show in DC there were only 10 people in the entire auditorium and you could tell that these people were coming to see this particular movie - certain look around them, not all military but related/friends/supporters. I hope the later shows had more showing.
Now I want to see it more than ever. I wish there was a showing somewhere near my hometown. Will spread the word in hopes that those who are able, dont miss this movie.
