Kansan Tom Berryman, whom SWWBO and I met on the NRO Cruise, reports out on the All American Beef Battaltion and their Fort Carson feed:

I had the privilege of observing/helping the All American Beef Battalion feed a Warrior Transition Battalion at Fort Carson. The wounded warriors and their families numbered approximately 1,000 and were served in the beautifully decorated activity center on post.
The food preparation began at 8 in the morning and consisted of cheesy potatoes, green beans, rolls, deserts, hot dogs and burgers for the kids, and premium Kansas steak picked up directly from the processing plant in Garden City. The preparation was done by the Beef Empire Days crew which consisted of men, women, veterans, non -veterans and was accomplished in an unbelievably choreographed movement like a well run machine.
Rarely have so many been fed so much by so few in such a short period of time.
Since April of 2008 the Beef Battalion has sponsored 14 steak feeds in Kansas Colorado, Montana and Texas. They have served soldiers that are shipping out and those that have recently returned home. The most moving was for the Wounded Warrior Battalion at Fort Riley. The military is extremely pleased with what they do and the All American Beef Battalion was asked to return to Fort Carson in March for a send off celebration for two battalions of the 4th ID that are returning to Iraq.

That is freakin' awesome!!!
