KABUL, Afghanistan – In Shinkai District of southern Zabul province, approximately 100 km northeast of Kandahar, Coalition forces targeted a Taliban sub-commander known to be in contact with multiple local senior Taliban commanders. The targeted sub-commander is assessed to control over 30 fighters in the region. These militants are responsible for coordinating and conducting roadside bomb and direct attacks against innocent civilians, GIRoA officials and Coalition forces, indiscriminately killing innocent civilians and bringing instability to the region.

During the operation, Coalition forces received PKM machine gun fire from multiple militants barricaded inside the building. Unable to neutralize the threat, the force engaged the militants with hand grenades, killing four.

A search of the building revealed one PKM machine gun, multiple AK-47s, blasting caps and wires used to make roadside bombs and bandoliers full of ammunition. The force destroyed these items to prevent future use.

“Everyday Coalition forces put themselves at risk to stop these criminals from killing innocent Afghans,” said Col. Jerry O’Hara, U.S. Forces Afghanistan spokesman. “It is these criminals that are the threat against peace here in Afghanistan. Their only intent is to scare the public, they don’t care who they kill.”

First, John is right, in my view, because we are not just looking at weapons, methods and principles. But we are actually working on the underlying concepts of warfare, that all of this is built on. But the big thing is we are working on it. No, it will not be a smooth transfer, but we must learn. Many of us look to the Military and the Department of Homeland Security to provide the National Security of this Nation, this is where we are wrong. We are all involved in this task. I am not talking about a vigilante view, just fulfill your responsibilities.  Students, do you want to get into the military? Do your homework, take the harder math, science and foreign language. It has been over 40 years ago, one day, I was grumbling about doing the homework  for a required research paper. My Father came into the room, didn't say a word, he grabbed 2 cups of coffee. He came back and sat down at the table where I was writing. He sat down and said, "Take a break, I want to have a chat with you. Here's a cup of coffee, enjoy it. By your attitude, I figure you think the day you leave school, NO MORE HOMEWORK! Well, let me be the first to tell you, you're wrong. You'll have homework until the day you die." My Father never raised his voice, but there was a certain tone, you knew to listen. For all people in authority, my Father never demanded respect, He commanded it. He taught by example, FIRST, then by precept.
