Government tends to expand. Left-wing governments tend to expand exponentially.

They defend this expansion in many ways, not the least of which is portraying those who resist as heartless, greedy, mean-spirited trolls. You know, the kind of people who like putting puppies in a blender.

Oh and one last thing. At least Pelosi and her gaggle of Socialists are up-front about their intentions to mortgage our future. They Tax us today, because the are spending tomorrow.
The Republicans spend today with what they are going to borrow tomorrow. Promissory notes payable by our grandkids thankyouverymuch.

As I previously stated: The Democratic Party stands for Tax and Spend. As in Tax and Expand Government.

The Republican Party stands for (or at least since the term "Compassionate Conservatism" came into vogue), Borrow and Spend. As in issue Debt and Expand Government. What is it for the last eight years? ... $4.8 Trillion in additional deficits, plus $1.2 Trillion in The Great Wall Street Rape of '08, and counting.

It is McCain's support for the latter, and the complicity of all Republican CongressCritters that's got us in the pickle that we are in.

FEH, I say! If this is what The Grand Old Party has come to, I want nothing more to do with it.

Now, where's that littler of Golden Retrievers at? I've got Mr. Oster's grand oeouvre revved-up and ready to go.
Exactly my point about "Everyday Republicans". What do our principles mean to everyday people and how do everyday Republicans see and apply those principles in real life? If you want people to believe in limited government and free markets as the best way for people to become "self-made", they need to see "self-made" people carrying the banner and the message.

The message must relate as well as the messenger. Most people who have worked for certain organizations know that "corporate culture" isn't just about making the work place friendly. It is about creating a vision that is conveyed, unerstood, articulated and practiced up and down the ranks, from the guy in the mailroom to the CEO. That is what has made many of the biggest, longest lasting and succesful companies a success.

The Republican party needs that type of "culture" and "message".
