Jonah in the Heartland

Jonah was here peaking about Liberal Fascism in a state where we sent a Democrat home, replacing her with a Republican (but a pretty much country-club Republican, it must be noted).  Jenkins is not a fan of my guns, based on her record in the Kansas legislature.

I spliced together a few of his bon mots that I recorded before the battery got cranky.  And no, since you ask, I don't do video camera work for a living.  He was speaking to a joint Missouri-Kansas event hosted by the American's For Prosperity Foundation.  We're not members (though we may join, after having a great time with these guys).

[Well, there was a video, but apparently YouTube didn't like it, and since the original is at home, and I'm not, there's no uploading it to fix whatever problem they had with it - and before you offer suggestions, it was only 3 minutes/5megs, and should not have been a terms of service violation. But my experience with them thus far has been very frustrating - they pretty much delete everything the first time through and make me do it again. Fie on them.]

I didn't really get to chat with the Great Man himself, but he'll be on the ship, and we agreed that sitting around quaffing brown liquors would be a good idea sometime this week...

The topic of his speech, as you might have gathered from the video - was his book Liberal Fascism.  And the central theme was - we're in Opposition now, so...oppose.  Be proud of what you are and what you believe, and resist the siren song of the Democrats to assimilate into the Borg.

I also scored this... which was sweet.  And based on dinner conversation, I may have scored a few more readers, too.  There's some gravitas (in some circles, at least) to being "Jonah's Military Guy."

Jonah Goldberg signs an actually *read* copy of his book!

Jonah was pleased to sign a book that had actually been *read* too, by both SWWBO and I.

I was pleased he wrote it.

In case anyone wants to see what the Dems are thinking about our 401K's

I think I better start spending mine on beautiful women, fast cars, and more guns.

No.  You have the video set to "private".  That's why it says "no longer available".  Try fixing that.

When I go to the account - it doesn't show the video anymore.

hmmm...maybe they classified it as "hate speech"? LOL

And based on dinner conversation, I may have scored a few more readers, too.

You *did* warn them about us, didn't you?

You Happy Warrior, you...

Even people who don’t pay taxes should get money from the government, paid for by higher-income Americans, he said. “There is no obvious reason why lower-income taxpayers or people who do not file income taxes should get smaller incentives (or no tax incentives at all),” Greenstein said.

Has Greenstein taken the appropriate steps to insure he leads by example?

Heh. Using Greenstein's line of thinking, every 8-year old kid in America should get a Distinguished Flying Cross because he's seen an airplane.

@Bill 11:09: Little do they know of the effects of malt beverages on the bionic brain splicings of Bad Cat Robot! Heeheeheeheehee!

That's only *one* of the reasons.

The other two dozen are WereKitty...

 "gravitas" is like mass.

Cheers

The Boyda message applies to Jenkins too. Tick off the voters and good luck finding work. I believe you have to be in office 5 years before you get the pension.

Anyway Boyda down ... one Moore to go.

But now in stead of crabbing I plan to work on it.
